If Daryl Sutter was GM i would completely agree with you. I do think feaster realizes this team needs high end offensive upside in the system, i do think if he is there, Armia will be the pick.

Joel: It would be a great thing to just be drafted, but if I could pick, I would have to say the Calgary Flames.

Lol, I'd be surprised if Markus Granlund gets picked before 7th round.

Saw this yesterday. Shows how clueless most NHL.com visitors are when it comes to drafting and prospects.

OT: I could pretty easily see him being picked in the fifth or sixth round, but you never know with Finns (...except who will be the first one of them to be picked).

It's because of the name. Gaspar Kopitar would never have his own thread here if it wasn't for his older brother Lot of finns on the other hand tend to diss Markus Granlund which I don't really get why, he's a promising kid.

Pretty much everyone here except for the finns themselves see Ma. Granlund going in the first 3 rounds, maybe even late 2nd. I think there's some finnish pessimism involved here Even THN listed him at 59th (was it 60?)

This. He would look so good in that Rangers sweater. Would be nice to have a Finn to root for again in our organization, it's been a while since we had one.

I have seen Markus Granlund play and must say he is nowhere near his big brother. I say he will be 3rd or 4th round pick. Really long-term prospect.

Is there a player in the NHL you mold your game after?

Joel: I like to style my game a little after Alexander Semin of the Washington Capitals.

Attaboy you read my post a few pages ago. (Even though the interview is probably older than that...)

Wow ended Sabres NA streak

No nameplate on draft jersey. They didn't expect him being avaible at 16. Nice

The Sabres seemed to be getting up from their seats pretty quickly after the Rangers made their pick. Love the pick, love it even more now that it seems they had him ranked him pretty high.

Armia @ 16 is quite a pleasant surprise. Interesting to see the Sabres finally go outside of NA for the first time a few years, but you really couldn't doubt the value.

Been almost two months since the last update soooo...

Played his first practise match with the team and with his old linemates Aki Uusikartano and Tuomas Santavuori. Ässät won the 60 minute game against the lovely rival Lukko 5-1 and Joel scored a goal on the backhand after some deking and gave two nice assists.

What I got from all the reports I read from the people that saw that game it seems that he has continued to develop at a fast pace. Has gained weight, has improved his skating by a lot and looks like a more complete player (being more aggresive and making more plays for others). Deking like a motherdonger as usual and could have easily put a couple of pucks more in the net. Only thing he did screw up was his shootout goal in the end, but seems like was still clearly the man of the match.

Looking really good so far even though this one was just one practise game four weeks before the season will start.
