Detroit/Florida Trade Proposal.

It is no secret Detroit is having a hard time getting C Pavel Datsyuk signed under the cap (although some Wings fans may not agree)so here is a trade proposal.

To Florida
C Pavel Datsyuk

To Detroit
C Stephen Weiss
RW Anthony Stewart

OR

To Florida
C Pavel Datsyuk

To Detroit
G Roberto Luongo

Any Thoughts?

Would you accept Weiss, and Stewart for Luongo?

I wouldn't, but then again I probably would take the first deal.

Considering we have a few extra center prospect, Horton, Olesz, then Datsyuk. But I don't see this as very plausable from either side, Detroit would probably want more proven players to give up their second line center.

It puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again.

I mean uh, yes on the first trade & a huge no on the 2nd.

The first proposal is relativley fair, although personally I'd prefer to keep Weiss.

The Luongo proposal is atrocious.

How about Stewart, Novak and a 2nd for Datsyuk?

I quote Steven Tyler - "Dream on." My only other thought is I need another beer - where did that cabana boy go?

Nice!

I would do the first trade as well, and I think Datsyuk > Weiss, though I'd rather throw another player other than Stewart.

I might do it. You have to give to get. Datsyuk > Weiss easily, and Stewart isn't going to be much more than a 2nd/3rd liner.

It is kind of a steep price to pay though... want Huselius instead of Stewart?

I do the Weiss/Stewart deal for Datsyuk on any day of the week, even though Im a big Weiss fan. Datsyuk is a great pleasure to watch on the ice.

With Datsyuk (reportedly) asking for upwards of $4 million I'd think Weiss at $600k would be about as good as Detroit could do in return. There's no need to add a prospect as promising as Stewart.

Agree Heimy. There is no reason to trade Weiss. a) He is so cheap b) He will likely outperform 600K c) He is surrounded by good talent and should put up nice numbers. Im really excited about what he can do this year.

No, the raspberry I'm blowing at these proposals doesn't require any thought

If you guys are having trouble signing Datsyuk, and we had trouble signing Luongo and have trouble signing Jokinen and Bouwmeester, then we'd undoubtedly also have difficulty with Datsyuk. Moreover, it doesn't help us in the least to trade away players who are under contract for one who isn't when we still have three key players (Van Ryn being the third) who aren't.

The trade proposals are part of these boards...just reality. I'd suggest if you don't like them, do what I usually do and don't read threads called "trade proposal."

That is what I would have countered with.

Weiss and Huselius for Datsyuk.

I think Heimy was agreeing upon the trade, just not with Stewart added. I would also like to see what Weiss can do cause he is still young and does have, and has shown, upside, but Datsyuk is a great player that would definately add some scoring to this team.

Yahoo.. Single season, non-keeper league. I got a great team IMO. My goalies are Luongo, Theodore and Lehtonen (undrafted). That's an easy 4 points/week.

Wings fans have really taken the brunt of some of the off the wall proposals Cup4wings has come up with in the past.

Anthony Stewart better not get traded, he's something the Panthers need in the organization.

Horton & Stewart better not get traded.

As for Cup4Wings and these Detroit trade rumours, its freakin annoying. The Canucks board, Penguins board...Florida board, its everywhere like an *** plague.

What can i say, dude doesn't take a hint.

The guy over values Datsyuk. The guy won't even freakin sign with Detroit, he has 1 break out year and all of a sudden he's worth any team's top franchise player or top prospects.

If someone really wants Pavel, they will sign him to an offer sheet, see if Detroit will refuse to match and take the draft picks as compensation or match and over pay him.
