Sergeev is interesting and could easily get picked in the later rounds this year...

I liked Dvurchensky at the WJCs too. I think he could do some damage if he plays with other talented players. But probably too much of a risk for any NHL team.
I don't think he's necessarily a risk in terms of whether or not his size and talent would ever translate to the NHL, but if you're talking in terms of whether or not he'd ever be tempted to jump the pond, I have to agree there. Depends on whether or not challenge/exposure/money are factors that he personally weighs such that it's a real possibility or not, and I would imagine interviews would be the only shot at figuring any of that out.

It would be nice to sticky this thread, at least until after the draft, so we can see which of our picks goes where and whatnot.

I believe I have asked in the past, but if I remember correctly I was told that since the draft is invite only, it cannot be stickied.

Well that's a bummer. Guess I'll just bookmark it so I don't have to hunt for it when the time comes.

I wouldn't worry about that. I can almost guarantee a bump or two come actual draft day. We usually do the +/- comparison on where out picks ended up, so this'll pop back up for sure.

2 days!

I also posted the results on the mock draft forum. Hopefully we'll get some thoughts and opinions.

Going to use it as a reference tomorrow night to put my top three players in each round for the habs to target.

Anyone have any picks they regret yet? A guy you picked too soon, or still pining over the one that got away?

My Ambroz pick at 41 isn't looking so hot right now...I went to bat for you Seth!!!

And I really can't believe Mike Reilly fell to 195, and that I passed on him at 191. That's going to come back to bite me.

Larsson over RNH.

I feel they should pick Larsson, but I think they will pick RNH.

I don't necessarily regret the Bartschi pick, but I'm higher on Mark McNeill now than I was at the time I made the selection.

Well my favorite Kyle Rau might not be picked at all, so a 5th rounder looks bad right now but hey...I'm a confident man.

Aside from that, I'm confident with my picks. Still LOVE the Hamilton pick at #7.

I'll just wait it out, which really means that I don't have a clue if the Habs can't trade for a higher pick than #17. As for the later rounds, I'll read about it after they're completed tomorrow.

With Zibanejad picked at 6, I now have a +3 rating on our Mock Draft

36. Chicago (From Winnipeg) - Connor Murphy
"He had a hard time raising his draft profile with consecutive injury-plagged seasons. Still, we believe that he is one of the top defensemen in this year's crop. He is a smart kid who is very strong on both ends of the ice and who quietly makes the others around him better."
Duff88 with perhaps the steal of the draft so far?

edit: HM to my man Yarfangor, who looks to have gotten a deal on Brodin as well.

edit 2: HM#2 to my surprise at Scheifele going at #7 instead of Hamilton. I think a true expansion franchise might have chosen differently between the two. HM#3 at our having Beaulieu to choose from @ #17. BPA, "need", whatever, he was the overall "best" choice for the Habs, imo. Oh, and no one took Connor Murphy, nor Percy nor Noeson, in the first round, huh?

HM#4 to Crimson, who took Rackell at 47 in the mock draft, while he went 30th?

Indeed, indeed. I should have mentioned Rackell as well. I stopped taking note after confirming that no one took any Khok in the first round.

You love the Khok don't you?

Anyhow, Huberdeau went 3rd instead of 5th, so that's a +2 right here. With the caliber of players remaining in the early second, Rask will probably go after 34 though. We'll see.

Big props to Duff88, Yarf and CS for the good picks. Still really surprised that Scheifele went at 7, Winnipeg must have loved him to pick him over Couturier.

Heh, great minds think alike (expect for your infatuation with the Khok, don't think I haven't noticed ).

Haha 5th round and Ambroz is still up there...I had him at 41. Well me and lots of other people.

On the other hand I had Coleman and Gernat in the 6th and 7th respectively and they're both off the board, so you win some and you lose some.

Looks like Gill and Bligh might not go.

But my other 4 all went sooner than I picked them. Sundstrom was taken 50th, I took him at 114!

9th Zibanejad: Went 6th (+3)
40th Clendening: Went 36th (+4)
80th Christopher Gibson: Went 49th (+31)
114th Johan Sundstrom: Went 50th (+64!!)
144th Sahir Gill: Undrafted
174th Nick Bligh: Undrafted

So I went +102 (on the players that got drafted)
