Oh wow! Granlund at 45.. That's a terrible pick by the Flames.

Lots of Finns and Europeans in general going here anyways.

Filatov for a third rounder is a great low risk/high reward move for the Sens. Should be noted that Filatov has a high salary cap hit due to bonuses, so he wasn't a realistic option for the Rangers.

Sens having a really good draft, Prince added to what they have along with Filatov

This is like the best trade I have ever seen. Amazing how these teams like Columbus and Atlanta (Winnipeg) fail time and time again.

It's funny. Every year we say the Islanders are drafting well (they tend to take the name players who fall) and they never end up really having a great draft. Islanders don't scout well.

Yet we all complain when the name players are passed by the Rangers.

Excellent point. Why spend money on scouting when Wang can stop at the newsstand on the way to the draft to get his list?

Sounds about right.

EDIT:

LOL, Well there you go. I KNOW NOTHING, ha, ha.

Sad to see Grachev get moved. Getting Miller made that happen I guess.

No coverage by the NHL. What a shocker.

The best was the 08 draft where the Islanders were the talk of the forum for having such an amazing draft. They did absolutely terrible considering how many picks they had.

And I've noticed the the trend that the big name players in the 2nd round usually don't turn out to be good picks. A guy like Jenner I can see turning out to be very solid, however.

Anyways I agree. I think Sather has made his trades in the weeks leading up to this draft. He got Erixon. I think management is gearing up for next weekend.
