Jr

well...seems like ppl think that JR is almost done...and that not much should be expected from him this year...

so coming from the guys who saw him last....what can be realistically expected from JR this year...what are his abilities still?

JR still has loads of talent and LA is good at forward, I could see him getting 65 or 70 points.

On the first line I guess you can expect 60 points as a realist.

JR's numbers will certainly rise in LA. Not because he has great linemates or is getting any younger, but because he wont be playing in a defense first system. Realistically JR could reach 70 points again (adjusted for last seasons scoring totals)

He'll be a great quote and someone the Kings will be able to sell their game on.

As far as what he'll do on the ice, i think he's capable of getting just under a point a game (70-75 points) while scoring 30 goals. I just hope he doesn't suffer any more concussions (i can see JR ending his career on the ice instead of calling it a career himself).

You will love this guy, he'll score 70pts in LA's system. Don't worry about his head, the guy took a slap shot to the jaw.

He never goes through the motions or "takes a game off". We'll miss him in Philly.

Two seasons ago he had 27 goals and 32 assists in 79 games. Now, he's three years older and coming off some major injuries. If he matches those games played and points, you should be happy. The only way I see him topping those numbers is if he plays with Demitra. On the other hand, if the game opens up like Hitchcock believes it will, then scoring could be up significantly across the league and it's impossible to predict where 60 points players in the old NHL will find themselves.

70 points if healthy while bringing a lot of fun and excitement to the game. LA will love him (and vice-versa).

appreciate the oppinions....its a little more reassuring to hear that ppl are still rather high on JR cause ppl were predicting that JR was brought in only for his name and the publicity he will bring to the team...but skill-wise, he is nothing but a 3rd liner

Top 3 on the Kings for sure. He's still an elite player, just not Forsberg elite

Elite? Not sure if he is still that good. His is a good player but would most likely play on the 2nd lines for a cup team. His best asset now is the intensity be brings.

He was moved to the wing because when he returned the Flyers had Zhamnov, Primeau, and Handzus down the middle (and Roenick). You're not going to bump any of them to 4th line duty, and so JR was moved to RW, where the Flyers were thin.

I guess you could say that. To me, JR has always played like a winger, even if he was at center. Guys like Zhamnov, Primeau, and Handzus are all pretty much "pure" centerman.
