We traded our 3rd (#82) to LA for Toronto's 3rd in 2012 and LA's 2011 6th round pick (#170)

Surprising move of Nashville even if Hellberg is one hell of a talent. :-)

Strong competition for Lindbäck, that's for sure. I have no idea who has biggest upside.

I guess we didn't like anyone near this pick this year? Good news is it's Toronto's, so it should be higher than our was this year.

That's pretty much the reaction of every single one of our draft picks.............ever.

We've only drafter 2 superstars in about 15 years, and one (Rinne) was a blind squirrel finding a nut . That has to best the worst % imaginable.

Ottawa just got Filatov for their third. Their pickup was waaay better.

Filatov would NEVER wear a Predators jersey. Not to mention that Columbus likely wouldn't have traded him in the division, much less the conference...

Oh, I understand. I just don't get not getting a couple more 4th's this year as opposed to next years 3rd.

You're missing the point. There's a huge, vast gap between what Poile got and what Ottawa got.

We may not have drafted a ton of superstars but if you take a look around the NHL we have more draft picks playing for our team than almost anyone else, probably the highest % in the league. Safe picks are a double-edged sword... the majority of them make the team but only one or two are ever going to be all-stars. Pretty much the mantra of this team, kind of like how we'll always be contending for a berth in the post-season but we'll never win the big game. And in turn we'll never get a top-3 superstar pick... ah, such a vicious cycle 'tis.

Draft day for a Preds fan is the most anti-climactic time of year.

Ambroz is still on the board. Same goes for Michael St. Croix, I expected him to go higher.

And your missing the point that things that one team gets aren't always available or feasible for the other 29 NHL teams...

Nothing hurts about that pick. Everyone on the prospects board is jumping on the LOL HE'S A BUST bandwagon, but he would've been a great fit for the Preds or any team.

Precisely this.

We'd love to trade for Franson. How likely is it?

Not very likely if the offer is a 3rd

I think Poile and Co. really hated this years draft class. We traded our 1st for fisher, then flipped our 3th and 6th for the same round next year. Interesting to me.
