Canucks 2011 6th Round Pick, 180th Overall - F Pathrik Westerholm

C Pathrik Westerholm, from Karlskrona, Sweden.

5'11, 185lbs

Malmo Jr., SuperElit

2010/2011 Season -
39GP, 22G, 24A, 46Points (Regular Season)
5GP, 2G, 4A, 6Points (Playoffs)

*Also played in the Allsvenskan with Malmo.

34GP, 8G, 13A, 21Points

From EP -
Quote:
A skilled offensive player. Has great chemistry with his twin-brother Ponthus. Good hockey sense and is the more noticeable goal scorer of the the two. Passing and shooting game is good and so is his puckhandling. Cycles the puck often with his brother. The question has been raised if he can be a productive player without his twin. (EP 2010)
Could the Canucks be going for another set of Twins?

It has been really common for Gillis to pick older guys since he's been in charge.

Westerholm really showed great potential in the Allvesnkan, playing against men.

At this point why bother drafting Ponthus. He's probably going to make it out unpicked and if so you know he'll sign here.

That was the noticeable bit for me; played in a men's league last year and acquitted himself admirably, at least statistically. Pleaeed with this for a 6th rounder.

It might be lower tier men's league, the one relegated teams go to. I always forget the names of them.

just a lil mistake... those 10/11 regular season numbers are from a year before

these were his numbers from this year:
Malmö J20 SuperElit 26 GP, 32G, 25A, 57P

Odds Chicago drafts his twin, just to troll us if we don't take him with the second to last pick?

You know every Swedish-twin pair to play in the NHL has won back to Art Ross trophies. I like the odds if the Westerholm twins are united.
