After reading the above post by patty ice on the Sharks boards & all these Richards, Luongo, Kovalchuk, Theodore trade rumours I figured why not make one big trade that gets the NHL fans back into hockey.

Later today, E-k-l-u-n-d & Spector will post the above trade as a trade rumour and than it will be all over net. Following which ESPN Radio will "confirm" it & Bob Gainey will deny it.

By tomorrow the Canadian media & NY Post will name it as a "sure thing".

Sunday's Newspaper Headlines will read,
Montreal Gazette, "Habs Win Cup"

Toronto Sun, "Leafs Rebuilding: Phil Kessel our Savior"

Ottawa Sun, "Hasek Retires. Muckler looking for starter"

Detroit Free Press, "DaimlerChrysler, GM, Ford, Datsyuk & Zetterberg moving East"

The Tampa Tribune, "Tampa Bay trades for Jose Guillen"

New York Post, "We were almost right for once: Thrashers trade KOVALCHUK"

Monday
Newspapers will read, "To stay competitive we have now outsourced our Sunday edition to India & China, we hope you liked yesterday's paper." - Chief Editor

Bettman nullifies above trade because the Tampa Bay fax machine malfunctions and the Habs submit their paperwork in French which no one at the NHL offices can understand.

One of the best ones I've seen. A lot of work must have gone into planning this one out.

Be sure to add a headline which states that the trades are "almost done."

I love when a trade is "almost done." When I hear that, I always imagine that the team has a contract literally on the table in front of the player, who holds the pen a couple of tantalizing 2.54 centimeters above the signature line, "almost" signing.

It's in this moment that the paper runs with the article, or sports radio rushes to be first with the announcement. And the HF database incurs a slight problem.
