This thread is primarily about those who won't be playing professional hockey in North America. The affiliates thread is more appropriate for the higher-level prospects.

Ouch, Campbell in the Winkler and Sachetti category?

I also had a laugh at the Prospects who are Scott Glennie category, primarily because I was confused that he was on neither of your 'like' or 'do not like' lists.

Anyone who cites Marty Turco as their idol is my sworn enemy.

Yes, but he is the exception that proves the rule. In the end, isn't every thread about Scott Glennie?

And you two really need to decide who gets that avatar.

Here, one of you use this

I like the breakdown, I for the most part agree. Jokipakka is for sure in the like category, I don't care if he sucks the name just makes it. (opinion subject to change)

I changed it. I agree, Marty Turco being your hockey idol is just ugh.

Mark just mentioned on twitter that the development camp will be held in MCKINNEY (obviously at DPSC) and not Frisco from the 1st to the 7th...just incase anyone was heading out to the camp.

Do you know if players sign before or after at the development camp? And will there be a list of players attending?

They signed Benn after/during one of those a few years ago.

My bad I didn't word that correctly. Do the prospects sign autographs? I don't know how anyone would have that info unless they've been but just asking anyways.

On the Topic of Oleksiak ive heard that 2 players have already un committed (didnt know you could do that) to northeastern since Cronin left. I think that likely increases the chance of Oleksiak going the OHL/AHL route.

David Fredriksson has accepted a Try-out contract, from what i can gather, with The Texas Stars. This is from an Allsvenskan (2nd tier Swedish league) hockey blogger

The Blues' 7th round pick in 2004, 211th overall, has bounced between the Elitserien and Allsvenskan over the past 5 years. He supposedly can play a heavy, defensive game so we will see.

Hey Cin, keep an eye on this guy for us if you get to Texas Stars camp.

A fairly long article on Campbell with the standard apologizing for his play. It includes info from Jackson that makes it sound like a near certainty that he will return to juniors, and specifically Windsor. I still don't think that's the right path, much less the ideal one. Hopefully he can get traded to a different OHL club and have a fresh start.

I wonder if the Stars can lean on Windsor and see if they can trade him somewhere?

I'd love to see Saginaw make a push to acquire him, especially if Oleksiak ends up going there. Trick him into thinking he's playing for the national team all the time.

Oleksiak annouced he has picked Team Canada and will try to make their WJC team instead of Americas.

That's unfortunate. I knew this would happen when in Heika's day after draft recap the article just said "plays internationally for America".

I understand why these kids do it but it still kind of sucks as an American hockey fan.

I find it encouraging that he's seeking out the bigger challenge.
