Could Louis Leblanc crack the Habs line up in 2011-2012?
The title pretty much tells the question: does Louis Leblanc make the team next year?
There hasn't been a drafted player in the past 3 drafts that has cracked our alignement. A lot of other teams have at least a prospect from 2008 to 2010 entry draft cracking their roster. I really like Louis Leblanc and I could see him paying a 3rd center role or 2nd line winger next year, if his healing process is good.
No... he is not physically mature enough especially with his upper body healing. He hasn't been able to develop his upper body strength as was planned. It won't be long before he is on the team but I don't think its going to be next season... not even for a cup of coffee
Too light. He was being pushed around in the WJC. Granted some of those guys are developed, but if he's going to play the way he does in the NHL, he will get killed at this stage.
No. Maybe he'll be called up upon injuries, but I doubt he starts the year here. He lacks some weight, and I'm not really impressed. Give him another 2 years and he should be ready imo.
He has the same chance as I do to crack the line up this year
Dude, I think you overestimate your chances.
Leblanc will only make the lineup, and even then, it'll be a 4th-liner, if we end up with bad injuries at the wrong time. And even then, only in the end-season, when it's too late to trade for patchup and Leblanc will have matured a bit with our Dogs.
Gauthier and Martin will never trust a kid as green as this one to be on the ice.
if we re sign Hammer I dont see why my chances would be soo bad!
I'll give you a chance to prove you are actually better than a pro hockey player. Please inform us of the scouting report did on your level of play, and your most recent stats.
I know you were joking, but I still think saying things like "I could do it" when we are talking about the most competitive hockey league in the world is simply arrogant, stupid and dismissive of the effort and skill involved in those who actually made it.
I doubt it. His main concern is his size, lack of strength (both with protecting the puck and battling along the boards) and his physical side. He is good both offensively and defensively and will make a very good two way centre, but he needs 2-3 more years to fully develop and fill out his frame. Once he does that, he could get a taste.

The way PG runs his ship, he would have to have a massive camp to make the team...PG believes in players needing time in the AHL to learn the pro game and polish their skills. I think he'll be a serious candidate in 2012-2013 and a lock in 2013-2014 if he hasn't already "arrived".

Why do we keep acquiring players that "need to fill out"(i.e:Eller,BP,Leblanc) and then they don't.
I highly doubt he can make the team. No need to rush him, he should spend some time in the AHL maturing, getting bigger and working on things. I would not be surprised if he does get called up at some point for a game or two if his play warrants it but nothing more.

Maybe mid or late season like Pacioretty did this year. Can't see Leblanc making team out of camp though
Short of a single runaway bus taking out Plekanec and Gomez, I don't see any chance.
From what I've seen of him, which to be fair is the WJCs and a couple Q playoff games, he'll need at least one, maybe two full years in the AHL. He might get a cup of coffee to get his feet wet at some point, but I am sure they don't want him on the 4th line and at least as a practical matter, may want to wait until Eller is more entrenched before introducing a second green kid down the center lane.

You're just being silly, and quite anal.
Seriously. There is just so much wrong with this that I was about to enter a paragraph explaining why, instead i'll just go cry in a corner.
I have to agree with the majority though. Louis looks like he needs to fill out or he'll be a pinball out there.
