I'm debating whether I should go or not. I work on 34th street, between 8th and 9th, so easy enough to get to, but not sure I want to wait around for 1 1/2 hours for it to begin.
I'm going, meeting a friend who works in NYC. Not that thrilled with the bar, seems expensive. $6 for a Coors Light? I also read $18 for a pitcher of Coors Light. Hopefully it's good.

Do you work @Red Star?

They didn't win the Wing Competition, they just hosted it every year. Last year's winner w/ Life Cafe (Bushwick) and the previous year was Super Wings of Crown Heights.

I live in Greenpoint only a few blocks from Red Star. The most interesting thing about the place is how Queens and Brooklyn residents don't really mix (it's 10 blocks from the bridge to Queens), it's like a middle school dance.

I will be there around 5PM, I have no idea what I'm gonna do to kill time. Last year I got there at 6:30 and the place was out the door so this time I'm gonna get there early.

just from what I can gauge I think this one will not be heavily attended because of our draft position and the weak draft. Plus the weather is sucky.

if anyone sees me there feel free to say hello.

Hey Mouth, you going to bring your video camera to this shindig? I really enjoyed your footage from last year's draft and the reaction.

Prediction for tonight? Pain.

Considering how lots of fans still feel about the McIlrath pick, it will be interesting to hear how people interact with him. I half expect to hear that he knocks someone out

That place down in brooklyn looks really enticing - definitely on my list for a place to go but not tonight.

Not a bad night. Place was nicer then I expected, but smaller. I left right after the pick to catch a train.

His flight had been cancelled so he couldn't make it. Greschner was there instead.

I had blue moons on tap they were 6 bucks.

They need to have these at bigger venues, and beuks not being was a buzz kill but they put on a good event. I got to meet free0717 which was one of the hi-lites for me.

It was a lot of fun, another hi-lite was a "beat your wife Potivin!" chant went up.

Also I got to eat dinner with Mcilrath and Thomas

They seemed to be fun loving kids. Hagelin came of much more mature and composed. Mcilrath seemed to be up past his bedtime. I mean the kid is huge but he is so young looking.

I felt bad mentioning Thomas's father and how I hated him as an islander because he was chippy and a good goal scorer, he must get that "saw ya dad play" stuff all the time.

Mcilrath also told me that he prefers the nickname " The Truck" over "The Undertaker"

The next night Jess Rubenstein on the BB radio show echoed the same thing when he interviewed Mcilrath when he was drafted.

I think Hagelin just from my quick drive by opinion is more pro ready maturity wise.

Red Berenson raved about the type of player & person that Hagelin is. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough for ourselves.
