Where did he randomly come from though? Do the Rangers own his rights or is he some random dude they invited to the Development Camp?
Whoever scouts the NCAA for the NYR must have liked him. Whoever handles it seems to be out west or at the least not as interested in hockey east, the ECAC or the atlantic, our recent FA signings from the NCAA have been Alaska (2) Talbot who was from Alabama, ect. Kinkaid is a great goalie who was invited last year but we let go to the Devils in place of Missiaen (poor choice)
They must be hoping he makes a better NHLer than KHLer, then.
pashnin's game is much better suited for the smaller rinks in NA...the other day during the Q&A session on the official site, i think, jeff gorton was talking about him and how there is less hitting over there and they don't like hitting so when he nails someone he sits in the box. but over here we like that.
Any particular reason for the elation if you dont mind me asking?
I just noticed the flag he has is Armenian.

I was surprised to see Pashnin's name there. I thought he had no intention of coming to NA. Isn't he supposedly really good? I mean he was at one point the first overall pick in the KHL draft...
Remember the Wolfpack had a Russian d-man named Vladimir Denisov a few years back? Pashnin is similar. Smallish, but fiesty... He's sort of a poor man's Darius Kasparaitis from what I've heard.
This has been discussed numerous times on this board, but Pashnin was the 1st overall pick in a draft of unsigned Russian players... sort of a supplemental or waiver draft. The better players would have already belonged to a KHL team as juniors. I wouldn't pin my hopes on him.
The second session of summer school for BC begins tomorrow. The first session ended on Friday. According to Clark,Kreider is taking 4 classes this summer to graduate earlier(fast track) and concentrate on his pro career after his junior year.
Can anyone confirm if RangerBoy is a real person or some omniscient web-bot? Amazing.
I'm really pumped about Sustr; possibly a darkhorse to make an impact. I don't know much about him other than his size, but what I do know is you can't teach 6'8". You never know what a player that big can do even with below average skill. When he fills out you could be looking at 6'8", 240. Even with, like I said, below average skill, there's no reason to think he couldn't be on the 3rd pairing as a crease-clearer; something this team desperately needs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly expecting the world out of this kid, nor am I even expecting him to ever be a Ranger. But at that size, you never know. I'm excited to see what he brings.

Really strong and young lineup if you ask me! I´m very excited to see some vids of the camp from our "swedish mafia" Lindberg, Erixon, Fasth & Hagelin
Sustr looked really good in the short on ice scenes in the video. Good stick for a guy with his size! He also seemed like a nice kinda guy and his really good english suprised me too. Never heard of him before but now I´m damn curious and looking also forward to see some stuff from him in camp.
Pashnin: I liked what I saw last year from him in camp but I also think he´s got enough room to develop. Sometimes a hit isn´t the best solution in a defensinve play, but he´ll improve that´s for sure. Last year he was there to impress the staff what he certainly did, this year he´ll show that he´ve learned new stuff and plays smarter. Just my point of view.
@ Leslie Treff: hope you can make some interviews with some of the guys and mae some videos for the board too. Would be really nice bro! Anyway have fun there!
