HE SHOOTS!.................High and Wide

So, i was joking with a buddy earlier, But how many people are going to be happy to hear this 10 less times a game?

Everytime i heard it last year i would cringe as the puck sailed 100 yards around the goal and out of the zone, straight onto an opposition forwards stick. Thats one silver lining I guess

I'll miss complaining about how Carter would lead the team in shots for the 5th year in a row.

Yeah those "high and wide" shots made his 35-40 goals per season really unimpressive.

I'll miss Carter blowing by everyone on the ice, while people accuse him of not hustling.

Apparently Voracek is worse about it. I saw one CBJ fan say he misses the net in stupefying ways.

He can go north-south very, very well.

If someone criticized him for his lack of hustle, I doubt that was the reason.

I'm a huge Jake fan, and this is 100% true. But Jake lacked confidence last year, not sure why. At the end of the 09/10 season, he scored 8 goals and 22 points in the last 22 games under Noel.

I think he needed a change of scenary and will bounce back this year. He'll play with much less pressure now with the depth of the Flyers. Some says he was not really focused on hockey so with Pronger I can't imagine he won't improve this year...

Oh and by the way, newest Flyers fan here . Huge fan of Giroux, hoping Jake will play on his line!

I'll miss having one of the best wrist shots in the league on the Flyers.

I'll miss the whining about Carter's missed shots and lack of hustle and Richards's bad attitude to the media and players only to have them replaced with the following:
- where did our scoring go?
- why can't we win face offs?
- our PK looks horrible now?
- we haven't had a shortie all year
- now Pronger is fighting with management and Bryzgalov

Bwahahaha! Amen to that! Followed by
  • My God, Pronger is even slower than last year
  • Kimmo has really dropped off
  • Giroux still won't shoot
  • JvR is so streaky.

How long will it take before the first photos of our new kids holding a beer, or something a little stronger perhaps, start showing up?

Meh. Now I'm done being cranky about both our old, and our new guys.

I assume your talking about Carter. Carter's missed shots totals were about the norm in the League for the top shot producers. Richards was far worse as far as missing the net on shots taken.
