Not surprising but I figured I'd post it here.

Probably got them both cheap cheap.

I like the Nodl signing, seems like he is progressing. Solid 3rd liner. Nothing spectacular.

Sestito was signed a while ago, waiting on numbers.

I'm hoping Nodl doesn't get more then 850k.

Agreed. A small payroll bump is acceptable.

I'm a bit confused on this. Voracek was qualified in CLB, so does that same offer get transferred over in the trade, or can the Flyers make a new offer?

I'm interested in seeing what Tostitos is capable of, and if he can steal a job from Shelley, more power to him

The QO stays, but I'd hope we're looking to sign him for more than one year.

The difference is that Sestito can play more than 3 minutes a game and not be a detriment. I'd love to see him on the ice instead of Shelley.

I can see both of them playing on the same line together quite frequently, at least I hope so.

Why are financial terms not disclosed?

Rumors that Sestito might have been resigned have been around for weeks...

Well our top 9 is pretty much set (for the most part)

Giroux, JVR, Voracek, Briere, Hartnell, Versteeg, Simmonds, and most likely Schenn. I would 100% take someone like Cole over Nodl in the top 9.

The bottom has Betts and Shelly or Sestito. There is one spot left for either Powe or Nodl.

Waive Shelley, Sign Powe,Nodl and Sesito.
Powe-Betts-Nodl with Sesito as the 13th forward.

I think that would be the ideal scenario. I really like Nodl. He doesn't have great offensive instincts, but he's solid defensively, big, and great along the boards. Powe brings speed and hitting, while Betts (assuming he's healthier than he was last season) brings decent faceoff abilities and defensive responsibility. I'd love to have Sestito in the lineup rather than Shelley. He's huge, fights better than Shelley, and can actually play. We won't waive Shelley, though. He is by all accounts a great leader in the dressing room and the organization seems to really like having him on the roster. If Sestito, Powe, Betts, and Nodl all outplay Shelley in training camp, however, I could see him being a healthy scratch for most of the year or possibly even sent down to Adirondack.

As long as he makes less than a million, I'm glad to have Nodl back.

Jersey switches
Winger Kris Versteeg will now wear No. 32 on his jersey. Brayden Schenn, acquired as part of the deal that sent Richards to Los Angeles, will wear No. 10, which Versteeg wore upon arriving in Philadelphia last season.

Wayne Simmonds, who was also acquired as part of the Richards deal, will wear No. 17, which had been Carter's jersey number. Jakub Voracek, whom the Flyers acquired when they sent Carter to the Blue Jackets, will wear No. 9.

Bob McKenzi Tweeted Nodl's salary to be $845K per year for two seasons... IIRC that is actually a $5k reduction from last season. If true it's good to actually see a reduction in a salary in the Cap Era on a young players and not just the journeyman/end of career players
