Czech Republic won... but the Canadiens didn't allow him to participate.

Not surprised at all, when I first heard of this tournament I was astonished the habs allowed it...thing is there is a gray area in the legal fine print because nhlers train in the offseason and their clubs can't really be that orwellian as much as they want to...remember the whole malakov ski fiasco? What players and celebs do in their off time must be within the legals of their contract...still gray areas are still there

I heard he got a fax in the hotel room and then the SWAT team broke into their room and dragged him out of bed

The czech team also received a fax from Georges Laraque asking if anyone wanted to fight.

Don't think price is bull riding lol. I guess the habs don't want pleks injuring a knee or ankle.

I see this as more of a good thing than bad. I bet it isn't competitive to the point of being an extremely physical league. Probably competitive but not the NHL. Regardless I think this type of thing will be good for conditioning and practicing other aspects of the game like shot etc.

EDIT: Guess he's no longer allowed to participate

I guess we invest too much money on Plekie to risk him getting injured, still I think I'd rather keep my star forward happy. He's made of steel anyway.

Unless there's been a new story about it, I assume you're referring to Price re: bullriding last summer.

Price was without a contract, nothing the team could do.

not the same thing at all, it was during the season and malakhov was supposed to be injured.

Glad he's not participating.
If he would have gotten injured during the tournament we would've never heard the end of it...

I'm also happy he's not participating. First thing that came to mind when I clicked on this thread was; "Dear God, I hope he doesn't get hurt!"

Because you know, with the luck of the Habs, he probably would.
