I dunno... he's been responsible for quite a few highlight-reel goals...
Oh yeah you're right. He did score 4 goals in 99 games. 2 of them were playing forward. He also has 9 goals in 300 AHL games. He's got some hands on him .

This is actually better news that signing a top free agent
Fans of other teams will find that hard to believe, but trust me, it is
Let's not forget about his play this past year against the Rangers when he saw the late Derek Boogaard racing towards a puck that Sloan was closer to and he bailed out and allowed Boogard to have the puck and then Boogard subsequently scored from just inside the blue line.
The hit against the Calgary player in his first game really was the high water mark of his career. Probably the likes of Jeff Schultz will hate to see him go, as the focus/wrath of Caps fans will now be on double nickel.

HAHAHA I've never stopped focusing on Schultz. He's awful. Sloan is too, but he played what maybe 20 games, if that. I give him more props from coming off the bench and playing better games than schultz sometimes who plays night in and night out. NOT saying Sloan is better than Schultz because I don't think they are both good, but it is harder coming off being scratched for 10-20 games straight and playing and expect to be in game shape.
meh, sucks for him but if that 700k can be put to good use signing Varly or even better Hannan... then i will be VERY happy...
Agreed. Although there have been reports that he is most likely going to KHL, even though he said he would like to stay in America. Hope this isn't true though.
After the whole NHL Hockey Diaries audio documentary he did with Knuble I felt really bad for him. The guy genuinely wants to be a good hockey player and just doesn't have the necessary skills to do so. It's heartbreaking.
Schultz on the other hand DOES have the skills (if not the speed). Someone needs to pull him aside and shake him like a crying baby til he stops playing such a soft looking game.
I can hate on Schultz because he's frequently out of position and will rarely play the body well. I'd rather have Erskine out there who, even though is caught out of position just as much if not more, will lay down some awesome body work consistently. Plus Erskine had a career year by his standards, he needs to be rewarded in some way.

Erskine increased his career goal total by more than 50% this year
He also increased his career assists by almost 25%. AND he scored a playoff goal!!!
