Eklund has been MUCH better lately in being accurate. But that's also because he was batting near 0% before.

Kevin Bieksa makes his home in Vancouver and has lived there for past 7 years (e5)

Meh...Eklund is right periodically. I wonder what the stats are on his "E5" ranked rumors? Wasn't Ryan Smyth re-signing with the Oilers years ago an E5, and then minutes later he was traded to the NYI?

Yep. He claimed Heatley waived his NTC to go to Edmonton as an E5 as well.

He just had the timing off (a bit).

Not surprising at all, I think pretty much everyone expected this to be done well before Friday.

What gets me all giggity is she's still reporting that the Canucks are seriously looking at Shea Weber. Nothing concrete that the two sides are anywhere even close, but it looks like we may take a serious run at him.

i think the preds would spend the US GDP on him, so unless we kidnapped Weber's future firstborn, i don't see him playing here next year

IMO Eklund actually has a connection or two in Philadelphia. He lives there.

IMO he knows nothing about the Canucks.

Sorry, where did you see this?

edit: nvm, found it. To quote HW from CC.

"The major move MG referred to at the draft he was contemplating is thought to be the Weber deal. Does he have the balls to pull it off as it would mean letting go of some pretty good players, like Tanev, Burrows, Edler, or Hodgson. Not all of them of course but you get the picture. Would you trade Tanev, Hodgson and a high pick for Weber? Or Edler and Hodgson? Or Burrows and Edler? Or Burrows and Hodgson? So the price is two roster players and a pick."

She was talking about which free agents the Canucks may go after, and in it she mentioned that Gillis was considering taking a run at Shea Weber via trade. Potential players moving the other way would likely be Burrows, Hodgson, Tanev and/or Edler (combination, not 1 for 1 but not all 4 either).

I don't want to give up Burrows, but any other combo of those guys is a no-brainer to me to get Weber.

Woah woah woah, let's be fair now. If Smyth signs an extension this summer then Eklund was right all along. He never specified when.

I'm hoping that the thought of spending the rest of his career wearing their new sweaters will scare him off of ever re-signing there.

Complete with piano keys inside the collar, six horizontal lines through the numbers on the back for guitar strings and a guitar pick shaped shoulder patch.
