The only player from that bunch I wouldn't consider trading is Edler. It's hard to believe that Gillis would trade Burrows after all those big playoff goals and his synergy with the Sedins, but Big Mouth Burke said Gillis dangled Burrows + for Hedman's pick, right?

Not to me. I don't want to lose Edler either... Hodgson, Tanev, and a 1st seems like to little. I'd throw in Ballard or another 1st, whichever they prefer.

Good to have Juice back. I was firmly in the "wanted him traded" camp before the season started, but it became obvious as the season wore on that he compliments Hamhuis perfectly. Bieksa's attitude is also exactly what you want on this team. Everything he's said about taking less and wanting to be here and give something (cap space) to the team to allow them to win sets an example for the rest of the guys.

It's pretty obvious after seeing this season, and his contract negotiations, why he has an A. Well deserved.

#Canucks. #NHL news. Heard at the draft the cap hit for Bieksa in Van would be around 4.7M on a long term deal but not confirmed right now.

Kyper

Too high cap hit

What? Confirmation from Hockey Widow isn't enough to change the thread title?

If we've leaned anything about Gillis contract negotiations it's that no one knows the number until details are released.

Holy crap if Bieksa's cap hit is that high (4.7), what amount of money is Ehroff looking for that's so different from what Gillis is offering? I still think he could get more than 4.7 on the open market though, especially with so many teams wanting to reach the cap floor.

There's no way (I hope) it's going to be 4.7 mil @ 5 years. It's probably a cheaper cap hit considering the reported length.

Kyp is just speculating.

I'd be happy with 4.2, and I still think that's where he'll end up signing at.

Maybe Kyp got his defenseman messed up and it is 4.7 for Ehrhoff?
