She was talking about which free agents the Canucks may go after, and in it she mentioned that Gillis was considering taking a run at Shea Weber via trade. Potential players moving the other way would likely be Burrows, Hodgson, Tanev and/or Edler (combination, not 1 for 1 but not all 4 either).
The only player from that bunch I wouldn't consider trading is Edler. It's hard to believe that Gillis would trade Burrows after all those big playoff goals and his synergy with the Sedins, but Big Mouth Burke said Gillis dangled Burrows + for Hedman's pick, right?
Good to have Juice back. I was firmly in the "wanted him traded" camp before the season started, but it became obvious as the season wore on that he compliments Hamhuis perfectly. Bieksa's attitude is also exactly what you want on this team. Everything he's said about taking less and wanting to be here and give something (cap space) to the team to allow them to win sets an example for the rest of the guys.
It's pretty obvious after seeing this season, and his contract negotiations, why he has an A. Well deserved.
Holy crap if Bieksa's cap hit is that high (4.7), what amount of money is Ehroff looking for that's so different from what Gillis is offering? I still think he could get more than 4.7 on the open market though, especially with so many teams wanting to reach the cap floor.
