Tim Erixon.

Not me. If Erixon is as good as they say he can be, you're talking about a player way more dynamic and harder to replace compared to a McDonagh.

The problem with Erixon, at least to me, is the variables. He plays with Rundblad in the SEL- can he do the same thing with MDZ in the NHL? Also, there are widely varying reports on him. Some consider him close to a bluechip prospect while others just consider him a safe top 4 d-man.

I think McDonagh can be a top 4 two-way dman, like a Ryan Suter kinda guy (though not as good.) I wanna see Erixon before saying he can be better than McD in the NHL.

I haven't seen enough of him to know if he's a good as "they" say he can be. I think we know what we have in McDonagh, whereas I don't think we can yet be sure what we have in Tim Erixon. McDonagh is a core part of our defense right now, and I'd hold onto that known quantity.

It could prove to be the wrong move down the road, but as I said, I haven't seen enough of Erixon at this point to feel comfortable in projecting what he'll become for us.

Kreider shouldn't have won, but I imagine a combination of factors led to that.

Erixon, add Zuccarello.

McDonagh

add Zuccarello

again.

Kreider should be 3rd, behind McD and Erixon IMO.

I'm unclear how McD how could have done better than he did last year. As a rookie, he displayed great ice sense, has a great first step, and made very few defensive gaffes.

While Erixon might end up better, he will have to be near all-star consideration in his first year to be better, in my opinion.

I see McDonagh as a terrific second pairing defenseman. Everything I read about Erixon says that he may well become a first pair blueliner. Erixon may well be a slightly smaller Marc Staal. McD is safer, but Erixon has a higher upside. My general rule is to go with upside so long as the difference in risk level is not massive. The reason is that it's VERY difficult to get first liner and first pair defensemen, far more difficult to second second line/pair players.

It's McDonagh here and I can't fathom why he lost the first one. McDonagh is the best prospect in this system by far.

Voted for Erixon before I realized McDonagh was still on the list. Despite HF's "rules" I find that absurd. He's graduated.

Erixon, has a higher end potential than McDonagh, as he has a lot of offensive potential that Ryan doesnt seem to have, Add Fasth

best prospect in the system by far? how can anyone really know that? i mean you've got guys playing different positions who are at different levels in their careers. none of us knows how each of them will progress. what's to say Thomas doesn't become a 40 goal scorer in the NHL? what's to say Erixon doesn't become a #2 dman? I still can't figure out what we are actually voting on in these polls. Seems to me the majority of voters just look at who is better right now and call him the better prospect. that seems pretty silly to me.

No.1 should've been Erixon, than McDonagh then Kreider.
