As a Lightning fan, this made me laugh.

Lightning also have no goalies with a contract. Both teams have decided to just go with 6 attackers all season.

And people thought our goal differential was bad this past season.

Anyone have man games lost stats combined for the last 4 seasons or so? That would be interesting. Actually it all seemed to start in the season with Kariya and Selanne, since then, it's been injuries to everyone always.
should re-sign them both, set things right.

Vokoun and Harding tandem for next year sounds good to me.

Elliott is gone, and looks like so is Budaj.

Does anybody know much about Aittokallo? I know he was one of the highest ranked European goalies in the draft. I believe his stock fell a bit because of an injury, but other than that I know nothing. What are his chances of developing into starter material?

I think the Avs could do a short term heavy overpay of Vokoun. 2 years at $8.5M or so? Helps them reach the cap basement and gives the kids out front a chance to compete.

BTW, Colorado with Vokoun could easily make the playoffs. They were a playoff team through half of the season last year, until injuries devastated them. Remember that they're in the Northwest, so somebody has to win the games with Edmonton, Calgary and Minny.

Why would Vancouver trade Schneider ?

They could end up trading Luongo before the Vancouver fans lynch him.

Hahaha not going to be 8.5 unless there's a bidding war for him.

Well all I can say is the Avs are putting all their eggs in one basket. There is no guarantee Vokoun signs with them. Even if they offer him ridiculous contract he could easily just sign another teams offer if he doesn't want to come to Colorado.

After that there isn't much in the way of quality goaltending. I've heard the name Harding thrown around a bit on Avs boards but he is an unknown coming off the injury, Giggy is getting up in age and his production has drastically gone downhill, Emery is a locker room cancer, doubt Theo would want to come back to Denver. And that is about it for quality goalies in UFA.

So if the Avs can't ink Vokoun, its going to be real touch and go at goalie next year. There is a good chance they might gamble get someone like Giggy and then let Pickard be their backup and maybe do a 60/40 split.

If were going to go without a goalie, should have at least kept Brett Clark around.

Why do people think Washington goalies are up for trade? Washington wouldn't do it unless it included Statsny.

Pretty sure we'll see another Anderson-esque signing with Harding this time. 2 year, 2-3 mil per season. Then we'll re-sign our guys, hopefully add a UFA such as Hannan. Reach the floor just barely, and anyone that gets injured won't even go on LTIR so that we can keep the cap hit.

Yeah, Washington would much rather have them walk away July 1st for free!
