The same could be said for Boyle. Would you sign him if he was available for nothing but money? I would. Same type of player, except Stewart is a better fighter. Drafted the same year, big guys, physical.

I think he would be a GREAT addition for the 3rd line next to Stepan and Hagelin. Adds size and grit to the 3rd line and the team.

Boyle-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Hagelin-Stepan-Stewart
Fedotenko/Rupp-Konopka-Prust

Size, skill and speed on every line.
i wouldnt mind Rupp. and is a better player than Konopka. id love Stewart and sather should do what he can to sign him. rangers not only need a playmaker but another power forward.

I refuse to root against Jagr, even as a Penguin. He belongs there to end his career, it would be fitting. I wish the team nothing but ill will, but I hope Jagr scores 10000 highlight real goals.

I am happy Jagr won't be stuck at 1599 pts forever lol.

If he can manage 23 goals he'll move into #10 in goals scored.

Amazing career for the most prolific scorer Europe has ever developed.

Can't root for Jags as a Penguin, as much as I love him. I was really hoping he would go to the Wings.

I'm with ya. Pens can go rot in hell for all I care but hope Jagr puts up a good season.

Except I don't even want him to put up a good season. If he puts up a good year, all that could do is help Pittsburgh.

No, we don't. I despise Pittsburgh and do not want to see a player I like make them a better team.

I always respected Jagr but never liked him when he was dominating with the Pens. Again, that's how i'll feel if he resigns.

I will boo Jagr because I despise the Pens. I'll be happy when he reaches another milestone, but he's still the enemy (if he signs anywhere else).

I root against anyone playing against the Rangers. I'm not overly worried about him against us anyway.

Still loved him while he was here. And wish him well against all other teams. Hope he lights up the Debs, Flyers and Isles..

Laich re-signed with Washington.

Terms for Laich is six years, $27 million, according to the #Caps.
The terms of that contract is why we absolutely should pursue Richards, but stay as far away from mid-tier UFAs as possible.

Six years at $4.5 per for Laich

Dubinsky and Callahan probably like that one

$4.5 million cap hit, too. I think it was reported he signed a 6 year $27 million contract.

Just a little bit above what some people wanted to sign him for here lol.

Eh, a little bit of a different scenario as they are RFA's, but if they sign a longer-term contract it will eat into their UFA years.

Callahan is 1 year away from group III. Dubinsky is 2 years away. Their group III years will be worth $4M plus.

So you think they'll get a bit less than $4 million?

Very, very glad we didn't give Laich that contract. yikes.

Whenever the cap spikes the UFA offers are absurd. Redden, Rozsival, Hainsey, Finger were all signed the same year I believe. All overpaid.

Agreed. And you know that if Laich actually hit the open market, he'd command a higher annual salary than the discount he gave Washington. Probably $5M per.

He's a nice player, but not for that much money.
