Agreed! OFC is a waste of a confederation. The mideast needs its own regional soccer mafia. Anyway back to the drawing board for the USMNT. Let's hope the USWNT does better at the World Cup this time around!

Regarding the Italians:

Is it so hard for FIFA to hand our suspensions after the game?

I'm a big soccer fan, though the diving is disgusting. A blight on the game.

I played until I was about 19, in various rec and club leagues. No diving at those levels. Much less at least. If you want to play professional soccer from the midfield forward, it's basically a requirement that you dive.

The US men are getting bad. Dempsey, Jermaine Jones? Just awful at this point.

I used to be a big fan too. But the diving and flopping and the girly play in general got old real fast.

Playing soccer is awesome though. Goalie or bust.

I could do without the diving as well.... but nothing beats the intensity of a World Cup Qualifier on the road........

I like soccer, but not the fact diving is part of the game.

Almost $70 for 3 sandwiches, 3 soda and pickles.

What am I missing?

Yeah me too. I loved watching the 2006 finals, was pulling really hard for France because I couldn't stand my obnoxious Italian neighbors. After that, EPL got drastically boring and 2010 world cup got me totally disinterested in soccer.

I love to play soccer, nice competitive sport, but I prefer football.

Reminds me of the first Mighty Ducks movie "Take the fall! Act hurt!"

If this is our dedicated soccer thread. Anyone watch women's WC? France edged England on PK's and Japan upset tourney host Germany.

Didn't believe my eyes when Japan scored.

Also can't believe how bad England choked in the PKs

I'm pretty excited for the US game tomorrow. I'm not the biggest soccer fan in the world, I love playing the game though, and international soccer gets me riled up

Rooting hard for Uruguay (first country to recognize the Armenian genocide) and Argentina

I'm just going to ask everyone to refrain from any discussion that is remotely political.

Hoping to catch Barcelona vs Chivas in Miami August 3rd.

Barcelona, best team I've ever seen, featuring Messi, most of the World Cup Champs, and PUYOL THE METAL HEAD!!!!!!!
