Hellberg's equipment didn't make it from Sweden, so he called up Lindback and asked if he could borrow some of his and Rinne's stuff.

Sucks for the first day on the job

Anyone else notice that Rinne lost his gear in a snowstorm on his first Milwaukee callup, and Hellberg lost his gear for his first camp.

That cannot be coincidence. I suddenly feel so much better about this pick. He is Rinne re-incarnate.

Do you guys think Ryan Ellis has a shot at making the team or will he play in the AHL next year?

I'll have to see him in camp and later against the big boys before I can say. As a general rule our coaches like to have guys go through Milwaukee and earn their way to Nashville, no matter how good they are. There have been some exceptions, though.

Ellis did play in the playoffs with Milwaukee at the end of last season. Will that be enough to satisfy the mantra of "the road to Nashville goes through Milwaukee"? Only time will tell...

He will most likely start the season in Milwaukee, then possibly a call up depeding on how he does.

IIRC, you've showed great pics of past camps in Duluth. If you head up there this week, please continue that tradition. I'd love to check them out!

They had a hard time sending Ellis back to the Juniors last year so anything is possible. If he's ready he's ready but I think he needs at least a 20-40 game stint in Milwaukee.

From what I saw last year in pre season and camp Ellis also needs to add about 15 lbs, maybe 20.

time in Milwaukee seemed to be a good thing for Blum.

Ellis needs to start the season there unless we just dont have anyone else for here.

Just got back from camp. A few thoughts:

Chet Pickard has gotten better. Much, much better. That is awesome to see.

Jeff Foss likes to hit people. There was almost no contact out there today except him killing a few guys. I think he knows this may be his last shot to stand out.

Magnus Hellberg looked lost out there. I don't know if it was his gear or what, but he just looked confused. He stopped pucks just fine, but when he wasn't in net he had no idea what to do.

Who the heck is Champagne? I had never heard of this guy, but he was arguably the best forward on team Silver (the worse prospects).

Budish is good, but slow as hell. like, really really slow as hell.

Ryan Ellis is NOT 5'10". not even close. maybe in skates......

Latta looked better than expected.

Champagne is a former Maple Leafs draft pick out of the Q that's signed to an AHL deal with Milwaukee.
