I think that if Jensen reaches his full potential, he could be playing 2nd Line minutes in 2-3 years. The good thing about Jensen is that he can both play LW or RW. Vancouver isn't very deep on the Right Wing. Burrows is forced to play Right Wing due to the Sedin's, and after that you have Samuelsson, who is getting older and slower every year, Hansen, who is a solid 3rd line Right winger that should stay there if he wants to be effective, and Victor Oreskovich, who is a common call up and send down player. this is a great pick for Vancouver, Even though we didnt get a Defenseman like i think we should've, he adds to a much needed Right Wing.

this is Vancouver's offensive line-up in 4 years if everyone Lives up to their potential;
D.Sedin - H.Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Jensen
Schroeder*- Hodgson - Hansen
Torres - Lapierre - Rodin

*Schroeder if he stays this long will have to convert to a winger just because of how deep vancouver is on Centre.

I really hope that Raymond had been improved on in the next four years and is playing somewhere else.

His favourite player is Ovechkin though!

I am expecting him to pick up his physical game next season. I watched allot of his Danish league games and also a bunch of Oshawa games, and if he would forecheck more and be a bit more physical, he would be a STUD!!!!

SOOOO jealous you guys got him, and soooo dissapointed we didn't use our 21st pick to pick Jensen instead of Noesen. Nothing against Noesen though

Mason Raymond had one off year. One in which he battled injury.

I don't think it's time to write him off just yet.

I was guilty of such nimrodery yesterday. Some kid was picked yesterday who was born in Fort St. John so I phoned my friend who grew up there, but hadn't lived there in over ten years and is 37 years old, and asked if he knew him.

Assistant GM Laurence Gilman: “Good release and really good offensive instincts. We look at character and work ethic and Nicklas [has] both.”

"One off year", are you kidding me? He's only had one ON year. The kid is and always will be a perimeter player, he refused to go to the net and play in the hard areas. Send him to Pittsburgh for a second round pick and I'd be very happy!

He's only played 3 full seasons and only played a grand total of 44 games in the AHL.
  • After finishing his college career, he came up and played 11 regular season and 13 playoff games with the Moose.
  • He split the next season between Manitoba and Vancouver (20 Moose, 49 Canucks).
  • In his first full NHL season (2008-09) he put up 11 goals and 23 points.
  • His next year was a major breakout - 25 goals and 53 points.
  • Then this year, struggling with injuries all season, he put up 15 goals and 39 point.

And you would send him to Pittsburgh for a 2nd round pick. That's why you're not an NHL GM. I'll bet you were one of the ones saying Grabner was a bust as well. Or if you've been around long enough you were probably in the "Kesler has no hands" and "the Sedins are too soft", and "Burrows is nothing but a 3rd or 4th line grinder" camps.

He probably won't have a great season next year either because if he is not healthy until November, he will miss training camp and a whole summer of working outs. But long term, Raymond is going to be a very productive (20 - 35 goals) fixture on our 2nd line. He brings tremendous speed, is responsible defensively and I don't know if what you've been watching, but he does go to the net. He played most of this year with a bum shoulder and a broken finger.

No chance Jensen makes the team from Junior. Would need quite a few games to adjust, perhaps the whole season, I would have no patience for that.

We obviously have to acquire Lars Eller now so we can have an all viking line.

Nice post. A lot of in-sight there. I'm now stoked on him

From that thread I see a reoccurring work ethic, plays every night talk which is all I want to hear. Bring your best and we can't ask for more really.

Jensen and a 1st for Malkin ?

Frans Nielsen?

Jensen-Nielsen-Hansen. The -sen line, it even comes with a built-in nickname.

Agreed. If Cody Hodgson didn't make the 08-09 team out of juniors, Jensen ain't making this team. But that's okay because I think he really would benefit greatly from staying in juniors an extra year, whereas I don't think Hodgson benefitted at all.

Let's be realistic here. Nielsen would obviously be too hard to acquire.

Let's go after Peter Regin instead.
