UFAs / Roster Changes / Trades / Qualifying Offers 2011? Part III

Has there been a report of what RFA's were given offer sheets? I saw Eric Stephens tweet that Chipchura probably won't be but didn't know on the others.

EDIT - I guess I could just wait 10 minutes.....

Talbot wants to test the free agent market. With permission, the Leafs talked to his agent, but were told he wants to see what July 1 brings
How much will be too much?

Tough road for him since his draft day.
Battalion, Pirates, Chops, Condors, Americans, Jackals, Crunch

Some stability in our development program would be helpful.
Hope all the non-qualified find a good alternative.

Seems to me everyone on that list except for chippy Is either stuck in the minors or just heading straight to Europe.

Well when scoring 25 goals and getting 59 point ONCE gets you 6 years $4.5 million, might as well test the market.

That's a really good point. Chipchura to Florida 3 mil x 4 years (e5)

Laich's role is a lot more than points, and even then he's starting to turn that around. I agree, it's a little much, but he means a lot to that team and if they're going to win he's going to play a big part.

Completely agree with you, but Talbot has the same amount of "intangibles" (hate the word) as Laich. I was simply trying to make the point that he is probably a million dollars overpaid IMO.

Hes my first choice to step in on the 3rd line. I'm really hoping Murray makes a run at him... Him, McMillan and "someone who can actually do well here" would be a much better line than last years 3rd line.

I would much rather Goc. We need some size on our third line and Belanger isn't exactly the biggest or most physical guy out there. I worry if we send out a third line of McMillan - Belanger - Beleskey/Palmieri/Sexton/whoever that they will be completely abused physically.

I think Goc will resign with the Preds while Belanger should be available.
Appears that EB is drawing some interest around the league.
Should be fun to see what happens.

Selšnne said in his latest blog post that he wants to play but complained about his knee and he wants to see how it feels during his summer training. So that's basically what we know already but it's nice to hear Teemu saying it.

Drury apparently was officially bought out. Now i don't fully understand the CBA but that basically makes him a FA right? I wouldn't mind him as the third line center IF Goc and Belanger
Are gone. The FA market for centers is slim pickings.

Those days are over. At best, he's a fourth line center now, and that's assuming he's able to play. He's likely to retire.

Now I may be a little drunk, but a healthy Chris Drury scores 30 points and has "intangibles". I'm saying in the FA 3rd line center market, he is our 3rd best option IMO of course. I would rather him and $1.5-2M for one or MAYBE 2 years, than our third line being composed of BMac and scrubs...

I pretty much agree with this. I'd rather pay Talbot than Drury.

What exactly does a qualifying offer mean? Do the players given offer sheets have to sign?
