what do you guys think are the teams with the best prospect pools?
we could do it in a list form from 1-10 and list the best prospect in our opinion for each team.
1. Florida Panthers- Jonathan Huberdeau
2. Edmonton Oilers- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
3. Ottawa Senators- David Rundblad
4. New York Islanders- Nino Neiderreiter
5. St. Louis Blues- Jaden Schwartz
6. Nashville Predators- Ryan Ellis
7. Colorado Avalanche- Gabriel Landeskog
8. New York Rangers- Chris Kreider
9. Columbus Blue Jackets- Ryan Johansen
10.Anaheim Ducks- Emerson Etem

That was alot harder than I thought it would be.
Seems reasonable, except that Strome is the best prospect for the Islanders IMO.
Also Filatov has the potential to be our best prospect if he can make it work.
Nikita Filatov - 8.0C
Mika Zibanejad - 8.0C?
Matt Puempel - 7.5C?
Stefan Nosen - 7.5C?
Shane Prince - 7.0C?
Added to a pool already consisting of.....
David Rundblad - 8.0B
Jared Cowen - 8.0C
Robin Lehner - 7.5B
To put things in perspective, Nashville was ranked 3rd for having one 8.0B prospect, three 7.5Cs and two 7.5Ds
Couple of thing...
I was being a bit fasectious (sp). We were quite underrated at 16 IMO, and people have started to come around.
The HF ratings are silly. They give a ball park idea and some clubs overrate their picks on a regular basis. Examples: Grachev 8.0C traded for a 3rd rounder, and while he might actually be an 8.0, he is not a C Filatov should be a D indicating he is a longshot with high end skill.
Edmonton has a pretty weak pool of prospects. RNH then Petry? That's a big drop off.
Many Oiler fans consider Petry to have lower upside than Marcinin. But yeah, most of Edmonton's good prospects have graduated already. Just need another top-pairing D and a starting goalie (Dubynk might be an average starter in the future)

My god Gore will you shut up with the third rounder thing? From here on out you should understand that trade value make no inferences about a player's skill or potential. If that's the only thing you know about those players then you should really just stop polluting the conversation.
