Thanks for the links.

Connolly, 25, has an interesting distinction. He's played on teams in the Toronto Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League and the NHL, but he has never played for a team outside of New York state. The Baldwinsville, N.Y., native played for the Syracuse Stars in the high-level Toronto youth league, the Erie Otters of the OHL and the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres.
Pssst...Mr. McGourty... Erie is in Pennsylvania.

Edit: Also odd that the second article makes no mention of Vanek on LW, Mike Grier on RW.....

it's a joke. There's exactly one sentence in there about Kalinin, probably our best player. This guy probably read every one of the Sabres bios on tsn.ca and formed an article based on stats.

Nothing on Vanek, but Clarke MacArthur could have a good rookie season. MacArthur is a good prospect, but won't make the Sabres for a few years, let alone this season. I wonder if the guy knew the Sabres had a pretty good offensive prospect but forgot his name and thought it was MacArthur. That's what it sounds like.

i know the line would be a disaster on the defence side but can you imagine a

Vanek Connolly Afinogenov line with no red line and these other new offensive rules? That would be very fun to watch. If we could have 2 good stay at home defense playing with them I wouldnt mind throwing a line like this out if we are down a goal.

Im very surprised they didnt even mention Vaneks name but they think McArthur is going to be on the team. I like Clarke but I think Paille is next on the list before he comes up.

Nhl.com is a joke
