Gonzo is actually right on this one But Hemsky is a good Playmaker and a guy like Cammalleri could benefite a lot to play with Hemsky. But Hemsky would cost a lot so i'd prefer a Guy like Malone who would fit more on the habs and cost less because of the cap relief. IMO a third rounder and carle does it for the Bolts.

I would prefer Jokinen comes with no cost and can play a griding(not physical) game while scoring 55 points.

Hemsky is not the answer, he is always hurt and the oilers over value him, they think he is like a 100 point a season player so the asking price would be way to high

I would love Malone as a Hab, but he has a NTC, and I'm guessing Montreal is on his list of "places he does not want to play"............

I do often. I even got insults in my inbox when I was a global mod. That being said, just cuz some act bad there, doesn't mean we have to do the same.

From my experience, the B's board has quite a few but afaik, you're not one of them and there's some very good posters on that board. I have zero issue with you here.

How is it... that our guys get hurt, they lose value (Markov, Koivu et. al. ) when another team's guy is injury prone, we should get them for the same discount... No???

I'd rather (and it's not my favourite choice) sign Vrbata (UFA) instead of trying to trade for Hemsky.

Trade Eller and Tinordi for Hemsky then sign Anthony Stewart and Zenon Kenopka.

Win win

He fits our mold of player... 6'0 - 185lbs. Injury prone.

Then let's get Gagne and let's trade Gomez for Marc Savard. We will then enjoy engulfing ourselves in injury threads and ask ourselves... why does it happen every year?

Injury prone, soft speedy skater. At 4.1 million for a cap hit even though he will earn 5 million, he fiits here very well. Problem is he is UFA after one season and Montreal will trade valuable assets for him. In the end, Montreal will do what it does best, they will let Hemsky walk while Edmonton has a few Montreal prospects to salivate all over.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Horrible!!! Trade away our future for an injury prone guy and sign a dime a dozen enforcer and a top 9 forward??? That's BAD!
Keep Tinordi and Eller, get Glass and Upshall and then WIN WIN!

We all want a power forward, but if Hemsky is available for the right price he'd make a good fit for the Habs.

I know hes pretty soft but hes got so much talent to just ignore this...Smart hockey player, not a liability...Cammy-Pleks-Hemsky would be one of the most talented Habs lines ive ever seen(Only remember the 93 cup :p) Not the dreamy powerforward that we all want but damn hes so good.

My only concern is his health.

Anyone who wouldn't take Hemsky the player on the Habs is a massive, massive idiot. Datsyuk isn't gritty as well, who cares, he makes you win which is all that matters.

this could be interesting. As of now all of our wingers are basically one dimensional shooters, but adding a playmaking winger like Hemsky would add another dynamic. His injury history is a concern though.

I think everybody's concern with Hemsky is health. Same goes with Gagne. And that's why I don't want him with Montreal. We already have issues with health. We ***** about it year in and year out. And we're interested in acquiring Hemsky?

Why the hell would we give up assets for a guy like Hemsky?! Edmonton will want solid prospects/picks. Not worth it at all. Hemsky signed as a UFA is fine and dandy but giving up assets for him is just ridiculous on our part.

Datsyuk isn't that soft. He throws about a hit a game(on average). Gomez and Pleks have a lower rate of hits per game.

I would say no considering what the Oilers got for Penner. They are bound to get the same for Hemsky (Penner got a bit more because of the deadline competition).
