I'm beginning to feel like Gaborik doesnt exactly click with anyone.
No, Gomez is a guy who doesn't click with anyone. Gaborik has shown he could put up points by himself. He did it in Minnesota and he did it his first year here. He'll bounce back, I'm sure of it.

Richards would do it because the contract would be over before he is 35, eluding the 35+ contract penalties. He would be able to get another big paycheck after.
Richards won't do it. From all the quotes, he wants this to be his last contract. I have no problem with giving him 8 or 9 years as long as the cap hit is low. The last 2 or 3 years won't even matter because he probably will retire by then.

9 years / 54 mil = 6 mil per year

9, 9, 8, 8, 7, 6, 4, 2, 1

That's 47 mil in the first 6 years, an average of almost 8 mil. He plays until he's 38, collects 51 mil over 7 years, and then retires.

I can't believe we are the 5th thread for Richards. Hopefully this will be the last one before the "Richards signs with the Rangers" thread.

Not if this plays out like the Kovalchuk saga.

Cue the Brad Richards Thread part 75.

Look. You need to stop interpreting things I'm saying wrong. Lecavalier might not refuse to play for Tortarella if he couldn't dictate where he would land IF he were to be traded, but the fact of the matter is I'm sure it's not anywhere near Vinny's ideal situation. He has a full no movement clause, and I doubt that he would waive it to come play for Tortarella as if it were an ideal situation. Am I coming in clear now? Christ...
