And Morrison apparently, who careers around a $2 million cap hit. So that'd be $5 million sent to the minors right there, if Buffalo went that route.

They needed (2) top-4 defensemen this off-season. Ehrhoff and Regehr fit that mold to a "T". The Sabres have FOREVER won games based on their PP. Last season they were just okay. Adding Kotalik back there with Ehrhoff will help that.

There's been a ton of talk about the cap coming down when they negotiate the next CBA. Any idea how much it will come down? I'd be lying, if I were to say that I wasn't a bit concerned about who the Rangers may have to cut loose in order to comply with the new salary cap structure.

I would HIGHLY doubt Ehrhoff signs for 6. Probably more 4.5 to 5.

Word is the Isles offered him 6.5M. But that's the Isles and they have to overpay... so subtract about 1M and his market value will likely be around 5-5.5M.

Wouldn't there be a salary roll back as well?

Also Avery, Christensen, and Wolski will be off the books.

There was an article on here or the main board that said that Fehr would fight against another salary roll back tooth and nail.

it'll be boring cause richards is the only big free agent. there won't be a series of huge signings around the league

I mean I'm sure there are going to be some good action on July 1st but it's not going to be of the big name variety which may make it more boring.

I think we'll see some trades due to the weakness of this UFA class. May be boring but a little action is better than none.

Supposedly, Booth is available and Cole will test the market.

Id love to add Booth.

If not, Cole on a one year deal.

Booth for Wolski (For salary purposes) + something (probably would have to be something pretty decent).

like booth but his concussion history scares me...plus he has 3 years left @ 4.25 mil. you might be able to sign cole for similar without giving up anything in a trade

The most I'd really give up for Booth would probably be something along the lines of like, Wolski + 2nd/mid-tier prospect. Probably an underpayment, but Booth is quite the risk, and he only had 40 points last year. He's got tweener written all over him.

We'd probably have to give Florida more than Wolski to get Booth. Prior to his injury, Booth was by far Florida's best offensive player IMO.

Booth is interesting, because if he can fully recover from the concussions, he's likely a 30+ goal scorer on a line with Richards and Gaborik. However, I think Florida is just dangling him to see what the market is like and will ultimately hang onto him.

I'd love to see a line-up of:

Booth - Richards - Gaborik
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Callahan
Hagelin/Feds - Stepan - Cole
Avery - Boyle - Prust

Probably impossible salary cap wise, but one can dream!

Well they did just randomly get rid of Frolik.

Take away Cole and fill from within and i really like the look of that.

Booth would probably command to much in a trade i would think

Maybe Florida would see Wolski as the type of player they can bring in, give big minutes to and move at the deadline when his value should be high due to all of the playing time.
