If Pagan commits a couple inches further on the 3-2 pitch, Bay never gets the opportunity to hit that slam. And then the following inning would have been completely different as well.

I hope the Mets can get the W today against Phil Coke. I would love for them to leave Detroit over .500. Verlander on Thursday is going to be tough. Looks as if Niese, Gee, and Dickey are slated for the Yankees. I hear Colon on Saturday, Garcia on Sunday? The starters are listed as 'TBD' for the Yankees. I am not viewing this subway series as a rivalry this weekend, but as the Mets facing a great team. I can't see a sweep but would like to ride a hot streak for awhile. I know the Yankee fans won't understand as .500 is essentially mediocrity. I just think it is important that the team remains competitive.

Sounds like a rehab game for Jeter in Trenton on Saturday, would imagine he would play in Trenton Sunday as well. Think he will be with the team in Cleveland in Monday.

It's pathetic if we blow this game.

Homerun after homerun.

Random thought about stats.

It'd be interesting to see another stat for an ERA including runs allowed while the pitcher is on the mound that get credited to another pitcher.

A lot of relief pitchers frequently come in with runners already on, if they're allowing a lot those runs to score they could have a very low ERA but actually be extremely ineffective.

There's a stat that tracks inherited runners scored. It doesn't manifest itself as an ERA, but still conveys the point.

50 runs 67 hits last 35 innings!!! Jesus. One more inning this game too.

Cant wait to see how we fare against Verlander tomorrow.
