Although the news seems like it has been out for a little already nice to have it official and good to have it sorted before free agency.

Good to see that Weber is definitely going to stay on as coach for the Rampage. I think he'll develop nicely into a future asst coach for us and will keep some consistency going for the organization down on the farm.

Any good Rampage blogs or places to follow our progress there? I did find http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/rampage/ which is decent.... I'm looking for more of a GR type thing... like that complainer Kevin who blogs about that Rochester team.

Nate(Double Nickle) did a fantastic job last year. Hope he keeps it up this year

For facebook pages, The official Rampage site is pretty good. I am not on the twitter so I can not comment there.

yeah, Rampage Nate's blog is wonderful!! I hope the team does a better job of embracing and promoting his blog this upcoming season...

Don't bother with any news outlet... The San Antonio media could honestly care less about Hockey in this town. It's a shame

I will say it's growing though. We had 14k+ at a game this past year and ranked 7th overall in average attendance

Any words on the number of years ?

I really think every parties involved went in there with an open-mind and giving a clean-slate to his counterpart !

Didn't remember Santos was the man in charge of the Rampage the first time... Then he went to Nasvhille and that's where the situation started to get worse.

From the comments by Santos and Rampage executives, I really think those guys want to make it work there long-term. And I hope we can find a home long-term, would be great to get it with the team we bought to bring in our kids the first time !

Glad we did all those great things this year ! Now Dale, you have to go get Martin Havlat and we can enter free-agency kind of relaxed !

Edit: It's also interesting to read Portland really wanted us and Tallon decided he wouldn't go that way in the end. Panthers executives must be pretty high on San Antonio IMO.

Anyone have an educated guess on what the San Antonio roster will likely look like this coming season, not including any veteran/career minor leaguer signings that are to be made?

Shame on you mod...

I think we brought the list of our prospects going to the AHL more than a couple of times in the last few days !

Anyone saw the ad of the new Panthers jersey on the main website ? Who is the guy standing at the end of the video, got a clue ? Anthony Luciani maybe ?

Don't get your comment at all. You think I do, in fact, read through every post of every thread? Nope. That's why we have multiple moderators.

Here's what I'm thinking for at least some of the lineup (all of the below are signed or QOs were extended):

Kennedy - Cullen - Repik
Jenks - Timmins - Hazen
Luciani - ?? - McArdle
Wilson - ?? - Duco/Selleck

Robak - Deryluk
Caruso - Oberg
Comrie - ?? (maybe Lapoint)

Markstrom
Plante

Looks like we need to sign some depth centers at this point.

How does this line-up differ from the Amerk line-up last year? Or does it?

Several players werent in the lineup for the Amerks last yr. Cullen was out a majority of the yr (but played well at the end once he returned), Hazen and Luciani were signed as free agents out of juniors, Wilson and Deryluk were drafted prospects and newly signed, Kennedy and Oberg were traded for around the deadline, and Comrie bounced between ECHL and AHL last yr. Goalie situation was the exact same.

Too lazy finding it once again... But there were comments made by the executives of Portland, they basically said it was a two-horse race, with the Panthers as their favorite. And the executive didn't seem to understand why the Panthers didn't ended up with them when it was all said and done.

I think the Panthers were looking at two options (Portland and San Antonio) and ended up bringing the Rampage back for different reasons (Tallon did put some kind of emphasis on the easy-travel and great ownership group)... So I think Tallon really identified San Antonio as his best option, and Santos seems to really mean to he has "some unfinished business", look like Mike will operate the Rampage with a chip on his shoulders !

Not bad for you guys !

I appricate your comments on San Antonio. We are growing into a nice hockey town down here. Having the 8th largest attendance in league (alot of promotions I admit) shows. Past 2 years a calder cup finialist came from Texas.
As to a blog, if you follow Nate through the year he has a great insite of the game. As a hockey novice I enjoy all feedback to learn more about the game. I wasn't a season ticket holder way back when so don't know the issues that happened between the 2 teams. But look forward to following the Panthers into the future.

A very big thanks to my fellow Rampage fans for the kind words. I will definitely be keeping up with my blog again this season. It might take a while to get familiar with all the new faces but I will do my best. I look forward to bringing you all first hand observations. You can also follow me on twitter @RampageNate.

I should have a new blog post up concerning the new affiliation sometime this weekend.
