I like Zuccarello and Del Zotto as darkhorse candidates. I see Stepan surpassing his point totals and getting to 55 points, especially if we sign Richards and he fends off Anisimov for 2c. He'll be a lot more physically prepared for an 82 game season this time around.

Based on the fact that Stepan has played wing less than 5 times at the NHL level, and was far from impressive in that instance.

It's simple logic, really. Stepan isn't a winger, and never will be.

Why do you move our best center prospect to the wing?

McDonagh yes but not Sauer. I could see him getting 30 points next season.

Anisimov is my pick for a break out player. 25goals/55-60 points

His game doesn't suit playing as a winger. Simple as that.

Brian Boyle puts up 25 goals.

Brandon Prust puts up 35 points.

Stepan puts up 50 points.

I agree for the most part. I think Prust can put up 35 points playing with the right linemates and seeing the amount of playing time that he saw at the end of last season, but if we sign a winger or a rookie emerges, he might be demoted to 4th line minutes. And I don't think 35 points would be reasonable.

In general, I agree. But I think Stepan could end up being our best option other than Dubinsky, alongside Richards and Gaborik. Sometimes you don't put your 4 best centers on different lines just because they're centers. Sometimes, reality happens and it's not the lineup you post on HF that wins the Stanley Cup. Sometimes centers play wing with other centers because even though they're both centers, they have good chemistry and play better together than seperately. I just have a gut feeling that Stepan is going to become our top LW this season, whether he stays there for the majority of his career or not.

Anisimov. He's always needed time to adjust to the level he's playing at, but he's also kept progressing along the way.

I'd still like to see Lundqvist put together a wire to wire season.

Anisimov is my guy, as Edge just said look at his development his 1st season in every league has been a learning year his 2nd a marked improvement. I know this is his 3rd season but it's the best league in the world I think he fully grasps what's going on and is going to make everyone suggesting we trade him change their minds.

Boyle on the other hand? I think he regresses.

Dubinsky needs to take the next step and find his consistency.

Stepan I think may have a breakout year as well, may not until his 3rd season we'll have to see he's adjusting to the physical part of the game which is tough.

My humble Norwegian votes goes to;

Gaborik - should revange last season with killer numbers..

Double A - I liked his style last year, couple of tweeks and he'll be a machine..

Stepan - good hands and a great
mind get's you places in life..

Mza - if he's a student of his own game, he'll get more points and ice time..

Staal - awesome player who'll improve in the right places..

As long as we as a team get's 7-8 guys with +20 goal seasons and protect Lundqvist better we too can go places next season..

Anisimov and MZA.

AA has had the talent for a while, we've all seen flashes of it on both sides of the puck, I think this is the year that he puts it together and plays that game more consistently.

MZA knows what to expect from NHL hockey and has a full offseason of training with that knowledge. Also, he is working with Barb and Boyle, which could give him an extra gear that would be very useful given his shiftiness already.

Crossing fingers for Zucc to improve upon what he learned last year and generally just have a better year this time. Last year was all about adjustment, so this year will hopefully show what he can do on a more consistent level.

Also people like AA, Stepan, Dubi, etc to elevate their levels yet another notch.

Finally, it'll be interesting to see if players like Boyle can do a repeat of last years great run, as well as seeing if Gaborik wakes up

He is very, very close to being a good second liner, but needs to be. more consistent and stronger. Even though skating isn't a problem, improving it would improve his game. If Bure's skating was "not a problem" average instead of phenomenal, he would have been a second liner, not a superstar. Similarly, if Wolski can go from average to excellent, it could make up for some other flaws.

Better skating, 5-10 pounds of additional muscle and an improved on-ice effort would make him a good second liner who would be very valued by the coach and the fans.
Could Wolski be this year's Brian Boyle?

With sports you just never know what the hell could happen.

I have absolutely no faith in him, but then again I was with Torts 100% last year when it came to Brian Boyle not being on this team.

That's what's always so cool going into each season. People can talk all the crap they want and speculate and act like they know what's going to happen, but it ain't true.

If it were nobody would freaking watch.

I think the majority of young kids mentioned are given. I don't expect Wolski to do **** but damn, I really hope he figures it out.

The depth on our roster would be ridiculous. Especially if we sign Richards.
