The difference is size. Small players are always much higher risk. You have to consider that he may not hold up against NHLers the way he could against essentially minor leaguers (almost all the good Swedes are in the NHL).

That said, he gets my vote for #5. Zuccarello actually had slightly more points per game last season than Anisimov (.537 vs .548), but of course Anisimov is much bigger which allows him to contribute in other parts of the game more effectively.

He still needs to continue to adjust to the NA game and get stronger, and I believe he will. I think you'll see him break out, earn more PP time, and put up 50-60 points if he gets the chance this year.
In player development, even a single year is of critical significance.

Zuccarello was 21 when he started playing against "men" and 22 when he had his outstanding season. Erixon has been playing against men since he was 17, and just turned 20 towards the end of last season.

Playing regularly against men as a teenager is the rare accomplishment. At 21 or 22, it is the norm in Europe to play professionally. I like Zuccarello & I respect his skills, but "playing against men" for him is no unique accomplishment.

I guess I'm in the minority with McIlrath. Another big and nasty defenseman is what I want.

You're right that OHL numbers do not guarantee NHL success, but I think Grachev may have somewhat rode the coattails of two top 10 draft picks on his team. Grachev's sheer size may have also made it easier for him to dominate junior competition.

Despite his diminuative size, Thomas as an 18 year old has had even better numbers than than Grachev while unquestionably being the leader of his team for 2 seasons. It bodes well for Thomas that he has shown constant improvement throughout his young junior career, which is often more important than the numbers themselves.

Voted hagelin despite it being a lost cause. I feel like eventually McI when he tops out as a prospect will be better than hagelin is now (If McI continues to develop of course) but I also feel he isn't there yet and hagelin deserves a nod over him. With him and CT it's a coin flip but for me the fact hagelin should be on our roster and will definitely be in the AHL pushes that coin flip in his favor. I think it should be 4 Hagelin 5 CT 6 mza but cant argue too much about it those three are all great. Amazing top 10 depth in our prospect pool.

Oh and add Vtank

How is Kreider #1??

The kid can barely hack it in the NCAA and he's ahead of McDonagh and Erixon?... Really?

The kid is a b-u-s-t. Time to move on.

Yes, a 20 year old kid is a "bust".

Criticizing him is fine, but please.
