did he have concussions besides the one from the stevens hit?? he bounced back and played 82 games in 3 straight years after that so thats a slightly level of comfort when discussing others with a previous concussion

TJ Oshie signs one year deal for $2.35 M. That should bring the price for Callahan/Dubinsky down, no?

Inconclusive, it's only a year deal so St. Louis isn't trying to buy any of his UFA years...

Dubi and Cally will demand more because they will be seeking long term contracts.

Was it two? Dang, thought it was just the one on the Richards hit.

Still, he played 82 games.

Bergeron also had a bout with concussions.

I dont think its avoidable.

Unless is a Savard situation.

Booth looks fine.

Several. Right before the 1998 Olympics he was cross checked to the head by Gary Suter. His career ended on a ridiculous elbow from our old friend Patrick Kaleta. He's very upset that the league has not done more to stop head shots. Go read Eric Duhatchek's story in the Globe & Mail. Very enlightening and very sad.

Brooks wrote last Sunday the 1st year cap in the next CBA will be the current midpoint of $56M. It's not that bad. With the Drury buyout, the Rangers are spending $60M plus this season.
If the cap goes down, there would be a corresponding reduction in contracts.

And with Don Fehr's undefeated record in these knd of negotiations, I don't think the cap will go down. Best I think the owners can hope for is a cap freeze for a couple of years while revenues grow, reducing the cap percent.

I think instead of the cap going down the better solution would be the salary floor going down along with the Cap Freeze.

If the League underestimates Don Fehr we are going to lose another season of hockey. I also think the Players would win any court battle against the league based on the leagues arguments during the last work stoppage. You can't lose a season of hockey because of "cost certainty" and come back 8 years later and say that didn't work...when....the league is growing under the terms of that CBA. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see a Judge in either Canada or the United States just glossing over that point.

As per @GMillerTSN, LAK not happy to learn Colin Fraser, part of EDM Smyth deal, is apparently "injured." Not able to be bought out now.

What a joke of a GM Tambellini is.

he was fine last year...but the big unknown is that 2nd concussion and how bad it was. he got hurt march 25th and missed the final 9 games of the season (2 weeks). but was he fine at that point? did he suffer symptoms into the season and would have been out longer? also possible that they shut him down cause they were a non-playoff team and he was fine before the 2 weeks were up.

And they fully deserve to. Anything short of wishing him death (which some of them did) is understandable.

This has been such a fascinating off season. I know its not the case, but it just feels like GMs are trying harder this year.

Personally, I can't wait for the next few days to be over so we can stop all the speculation and get an idea of the team we'll have going into next year.

Here's the news from a very credible source. RT @tpanotchCSN: Flyers will NOT submit an offer sheet on Stamkos. It's over.
