Wow Burns is incredibly overrated on this board, the guy has never once impressed me, and he's never accomplished anything.

Can you back up this claim? I mean I don't really care to get in a pissing match between the two players, but to say that Burns is better offensively right now doesn't seem right.

Burns: Career highs: (last season)

GP 80
G 17
A 29
Pts 46

Subban Career high (last season, rookie)

GP 77
G 14
A 24
Pts 38

I was expecting Burns to have consistent 55-60 pt seasons to be considered better than Subban offensively.

Burns is good for 15 goals 30 assist per season ( If he stays healthy)
Subban tends to take stupid penalties but has tremendous offensive upside, putting up 38 points in his rookie season which is likely to improve in years to come

It's close, but I think Burns has the edge.

I'm getting tired of people using this as an excuse. It's so pointless and is simply not true. The Habs scored ten more goals than Minnesota last year. Wow, big deal.

As for it not being close, give me a break. Burns had 8 more points than Subban last season, and he is four years older. It is more close than people think, and in my opinion it is pretty obvious that Subban will be the better player in the future.

The argument is that one gets more coverage than the other, which is true. Unless you believe Minnesota gets the same coverage as Montreal.

If by saying visibility he meant public viewership or something of the sort, I was mistaken. Using the word "visibility" made me think of actual offensive productivity or something relating his play. Perhaps it was just originally a poor choice of wording or a lack of comprehension on my part.

Burns is ahead now, but this is much closer than a lot of people think. You know it's close when even Bruins fans are giving Subban props.

Burns for now. He's done it for more than one year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Subban passed him as soon as this year, but I'll be interested to see what Burns can do on a much better, more offensive team.

Its close, but long term, I probably take PK.

I took Subban. Alot better defensively than he gets credit for. Also, Burns is overrated to the point of insanity on these boards. Read these boards for awhile and you'd think he's Denis Potvin.

The question should be, if you are a GM, which Dman would you pick first on your team.

The answer is Subban. I expect him to be known as the best of the two players as soon as next season. And he's 4 years younger...
