Just wondering about his value, play style and where people think he will sign. I am thinking he would look good on Montreals top pairing. Looks like he plays some decent minutes and is fairly defensivly sound. Not too showy.

Probably around 4M, not overly physical but will throw the body in a pinch. Fights pretty well in the corners. Does not get caught out of position. Older so you may want to consider keeping the minutes down, but should be capable of top-pairing work. Hoping he'll re-sign in Washington.

He's a bit slow in the foot but he's a solid defensive Defenseman, plays the body well, quite physical but doesn't go for the huge checks, also a darn good Pker guy...

With Montador's signing I'm guessing 2.75 - 3.5 mil for 3-4 years depending on the city. I'm sure he's thinking family and Cup at the same time. No clue where he signs.

I'm hoping 3 mil for 3 yrs for my Caps, but it's just a hope!

Maybe second pairing would be ideal, if we could get him for the amounts being speculated in here (3.5mil) I think he would be a steal.

I could see him in San Jose for anything less than 3.5 million.

Boyle-Murray
Burns-Vlasic
Demers-Hannan

I doubt he signs anywhere for less than $4. He's a very valuable stay-at-home d-man. He may not be physical in the sense that he gets a lot of hits, but he is physical in the sense that he makes guys work to get around him, and is great at using his body a lot of ways to gain better position.

This, especially given Montador's contract.

I was never impressed with him game until he left. Afterward I realized that he was there all along, I just didn't notice him.

He plays a very silent game. You won't notice him, but he is a very technically sound defenseman.

He mentioned it the other day. No Colorado either, but he did say he wouldn't mind going back to San Jose.

Had a great run in San Jose, but he has def lost a step. Not worth that much anymore.

I would rather have Souray for $2M than Hannan for the same price.

I am a huge Hannan Fan, I would have no problem if he were on my team for next three years are 3.5 million per year.

I wish the Leafs could get him, but looking at the make-up of there D-core this year there is really no need. Unless we move Komi.....any takers????? NO, ok.

I tried.

Scott Hannan better be resigned by the Caps or McPhee should be handed his walking papers. I'm tired of good players leaving the Capitals locker room while unproductive crybaby useless prima donnas like Semin stink up the ice for another 82 games with a ripoff rate 1yr contract.

If Hannan signs with another team I will have to seriously question GMGM's mental capacity.
