You shouldn't be Gillis always has a plan he didn't win GMOTY by sitting on his hands

I'm worried that the Oilers will do nothing. They need to be acquiring some good NHLers by overpaying on 1-2 year contracts if need be.

Can't be last place every season.

Freaking out? No..It's expected now that DL will over pay in free agency. I just hope he over pays the right player.

No. JR didn't overpay for Joni and Jussi, the only overpay that is possible is with Cole.

Everyone will over pay. Too much money to go around for too few players.

It'll be "Yay, we just signed Brad Richards for 8M+/yr!".

It's gonna be ugly tomorrow.

If my team doesn't make the playoffs, I'd rather want them to be in the last place.

Though, being last place for 3 consecutive seasons would be frustrating...

I would be scared how Burke spends that cash.

At his current rate you're looking at Micheal Ryder for 4 years at 5 mill cap hit or Kent Huskins at 4 years at 3 million cap hit per year.

Really? Bozak was making about a million plus bonuses. He wasn't making 3.5 a season. Kessel is on a good contract. And wait until you sign Talbot for 3 million a season. Armstrong's contract will look a lot better after July 1st.

I am not freaking as the actual cap hits, while important, are not the big issue that this boards makes them out to be.

There are very few cases where a bad contract actually cripples a teams chance of success

I'm looking forward when two weeks from now were teams that are still not close to the cap start inquiring about Gomez and hold a bidding war for his services.

You proved his point even further. He was only making 875K.. the rest 2.8M was bonuses which I bet he didn't hit.

He was a top college UFA.. they get contracts like the Taylor Halls, Seguins, Stamkos when they sign their ELC's.

Heck Stephane Da Costa is signed for the same amount...

Kessel- Is 30 goal scorer every year he has been here playing without a proper center.

Bozak- Made less than that with that number being what his bonus would have worked out to. Obviously didn't get that.

Komi- Had a shoulder injury most of last year, and is expected to be back full this year.

Armstrong- Is a great locker room guy and is one of the first to stand up on the bench to get the team going. Leads by example.

In both the pre-cap and post cap eras, for the amount of money that has been dished out through that man the Rangers have only won two playoff series.... he'll be GM as long as he wants to be GM.

Yes... Yes I am.....

I dont even what Brad Richards because hes going to cost alot and for a long long time. I understand the Rangers need a #1 Center and PPQB, but once hes in his mid 30's there's a big chance of him going on a decline, and at that time he will be making about $7m and I do not want that.

awesome!!!

In all honesty I hope Darcy overpays tomorrow... Give Brad what he wants - $7M... Sure, $8M... You bet -

Maybe try and get Ehrhoff locked up too... It might be pricey, but its a smart move

Bozak's cap hit for the 2011-2012 season will be 3.75.
