We don't let our RFAs get to the offer sheet stage b/c we actually have money, so I doubt that influenced us @ all. Plus, if Tampa wants to hand over 4 lottery picks for JVR, I've got no probs w/ that.

Thank God Homer and company.
You do realize that Timmy P. is probably the most ridiculously unreliable source this could've come from... right?

I completely agree, but I still believe we're out of the Stamkos race.

"Joe" just called into the Mike Missanelli show and said he has a contact the the organeyezation an said Stamkos will sign a 12yr/115m offer sheet with us tomorrow. He guaranteed it.

I think I might believe Joe more than Panatch and Homer!

Why would the Flyers announce this? It seems like it would make Yzerman's job of signing Stamkos to a more team friendly number alot easier. By taking away one of Stamkos' possible suiters you are taking away bargaining power and thus his cap hit might be less now.

Traditionally we haven't in the past... but it might be harder now after we got rid of Richards and Carter

Fair point. I am still hoping, I am sure we can defend our own RFA's when the time comes.

Attacks at JVR and Giroux are pretty empty.

There's no reason Holmgren would let them walk for less than promising offer sheets when it came time.

Honestly, I can't see us not signing players that we would want to keep on our roster. We have the money and the roster.

So yeah, empty threats are empty.

Apparently, though, Eskin says Tampa and Philly are talking trade.

Do you have a link for this?

There's no use worrying about it now either... and especially not an empty threat from TB... we have the sellout crowds, the team that contends every year... what kind of hockey player would want to walk away from that for a little bit more money on a crappy team?

And even if they did, I'd love 4 lottery picks from Tampa.

I like JVR, but he hasn't even proven he'd be worth a huge offer sheet yet.

And Giroux... well, I think we'll have him locked up FAR before he's an RFA again, plus it's 3 years in the future.

He also was the only person reporting that the Flyers were shopping Richards and Carter two weeks before they were traded.

Those sly sons of *****es, they say we're not giving an offer sheet. But really they're going to trade for him.

If your Stamkos you have to be pissed. If you sign a big offer sheet by another team, Tampa will match and you're stuck in Tampa for a very long time. You would think he would sign a smaller deal in Tampa, something that will get him to FA. Is it 7 years played or age 31? I'm sure that's what he is trying to do, 4 yrs 35-40mill.

tpanotchCSN Tim Panaccio
I agree w/Eklund. Carter was LAST resort deal; #flyers will move lesser $$ now that cap is going up

tpanotchCSN Tim Panaccio
Richards will absolutely not be moved. #flyers #nochance

So... I guess we can expect to see Stamkos in Orange and Black now that Tim "The Sage" Panaccio has predicted that no offer sheet is coming.

They're probably sewing 91 onto a jersey for the press conference tomorrow...

Timmy P knows nothing about hockey & Bob Clarke absolutely hates the guy, I still haven't figured out why CSN hired him. Pronger messing with him is pure gold.

What would have to happen for him to become a UFA?

If he is having issues in TB, he might not want to sign an offer with another team that could potentially keep him there for over a decade.

He might not want to sign a deal TB is offering him either.
