Obviously you're excited. No matter who Burke signs you're going to make him out to be a stud and start dreaming about the playoffs.

You can call him delusional, but I think leafs have a legit chance to make the playoffs this year.

As they did last year, and year before, and year before that as well....

I'm worried Flames will pick up one of Jovanovski, McCabe or Hamrlik. For a 2 year 8 million contract, with a NTC. Would be such a typically bizarre and inappropriate Flames move.

I hope your right. I trust Gillis and think he's a great GM but he did say he didn't want to make changes and with Ehrhoff gone I worry about that 50 points not being replaced is all.

Sometimes doing nothing on July 1st is the best thing you can do...

As an Oilers fan I am certain the team will make no significant moves this year at free agency.

No different than any other year for us. Still in rebuild mode. Not going to add playoff pieces for another 2-3 years.

Calgary's first call tomorrow will be to Jovanovski, he's their number 1 target. (for better or worse)

As a Leaf fan I know we are going to over pay for some one I just dont know who yet.
We over pay for someone every July 1st. Our problem is that it always seems to be 3rd liners and 5th Dmen.

Wow.

How many times can you misread Capgeek in one day? Bozak is an RFA. You've pretty much provided me all the evidence to counter everything you've been saying.

Didn't even bother to read the link you posted eh?

Bozak is an RFA and his QO is based off the 875K he actually earned.

True enough, but not when the Canucks have some major holes to fill, particularly on D and on the wing. Kesler needs some consistent wingers. Raymond is hurt to start the year, and i think samuelsson is too lazy. Not to mention one of our best offensive defensemen is gone.

I'm almost certain every heavily sought UFA will be overpaid. New York will pay Brad Richards 9mil a season, haha.

It's not so much the money but the years that frightens me. Outside of Richards, Ehrhoff, and maybe a couple of others no one deserves 4 year deals with inflated prices due to teams trying to reach the floor. I hope Dallas "buys" a contract from a cap strapped team rather than try to duke it out in this unbelievable market.

There are going to be some insane paydays tomorrow, you can feel it. A few GMs are going to hit the panic button.

Thankfully, Chiarelli sounds like he is sitting this one out.

Yes but we have alot of cap space. I don't care if we pay someone like Richards or Stamkos more than they're worth, as they are elite players. I was worried about Ehrhoff but looks like Sabres are signing him.

Speaking from the Washington viewpoint I am trembling in terror that GMGM will have yet another unproductive off-season where most of our good UFAs walk (Hannan) while we weep on bended knee for some overvalued underperforming big namer (Kaberle) and end up ousted in the first round again and again and again and again until Ovie retires.
