Montador signed with Chicago...4 years 11 mil...2.7/year...seems like a lot. He's a decent d-man but will be a #5 in Chicago.

Either get it done or not.

I'm sure he's trying.

I don't think Ehrhoff being UFA or not for tomorrow was going to make July 1st a bust. Even with him included, there isn't much depth.

10 yrs, 40m?????? hahahaha

TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
Awaiting confirmation on this, but hearing Ehrhoff's deal in Buffalo is 10 years, $40 million. No clue yet on structure within that.

Must be one of those crazy front loaded deals.

Buffalo has a better team now IMO. So Bruins and Sabres better than the Habs, and the Leafs should get a bit better. I really hope Gauthier knows what he's doing.

Buffalo is definitely better with Ehrhoff on their blue-line, but that contract is disgusting. Cap hit is fine, but 10 years is way too much.

Bah, not like 4M cap hit is crippling. If people here have learned anything, they should know that the Sabres won't have much trouble trading him is 3-5 years. If Campbell could be traded anyone could.

If the cap keeps trending upwards then $4 million will be nothing soon. In fact it's pretty much nothing now for a player of his calibre.

I have a gut feeling we're going to sign Ville Leino. He seems like the logical top 9 forward best suited for our squad. And i think he'll come in slightly lower than say Eric Cole. I could see something like 9M over three years.

Last time I checked the game is played on the ice. NY Rangers add big free agents every year and they often flop, let's see the Sabres on ice before we say they are better.
