Is Mesz Being Dealt? - Please Don't Shoot the MesZenger
Normally... that meaning prior to last Thursday... I would laugh this off, but after the Richards AND Carter bomb, followed by the Powe to the gut, I suppose anything is open for discussion... Anybody hear any other source saying this?

Just an Ottawa reporter trying to make it seem like he knows inside stuff about a former Ottawa player. I'm not worried
if we traded him, I think we'd all be REALLY happy with the return...b/c homer aint moving mesz w/o a HUGE overpayment happening. someone must think he is a #2 or #1b defenseman...
People bashing this rumor need to relax...you have absolutely NO IDEA what the return is, if a team makes a huge overpayment how could you be mad? You don't know what you are getting in return so before you bash the rumor just relax.
they arent dealing mez. Almost certain they want to keep the defense corps, and maybe add some more talent to it in the 6th spot.
Unless they are very intrigued by a trade, they are likely just going to sign forwards to fill out this roster.
That (bolded line) was a clear feeling I got when Richards and Carter were moved and neither Carle nor Coburn were moved... Homer made such a point about building up the depth on D for the postseason, and I understand adding the True Number One goalie -- a Mr. Snider's demand(?) -- but I don't see why he suddenly would change his stance and weaken he D-unit... especially after hitting a homer (no pun intended) with Mesz regaining much of his rookie promise last season.

If it's a huge return, everyone will probably be quite happy.
If it's just to make room to give Jagr money (and moving Mesz to make room for Jagr implies overpayment, to me), it's a terribad move.

I posted this in the stamko thread, Jagr was reportedly offered 1m from Pitt, maybe 2m from Detroit. By the sounds of it we dont have to dump salary to sign Jagr.

At the STH Town Meeting I heard Homer say he wanted Carle resigned and would try to make it happen (paraphrased)... but of course that means nothing really I suppose... but Carle is working well in the unit, and especially when Pronger is playing and healthy, I see no reason to move him at this point... I think Bryz backstopping this D, with some help from the forwards, has nothing but promise written all over it.

Meszaros for Bogosian + 1st in 2012 isn't too bad.
If we could nab someone like Ryan Murray or Griffin Reinhart or Nick Ebert or Jacob Trouba or Jordan Schmaltz or a billion other defensemen that could go high in 2012...

I'd be alright even though I really love Meszaros. 2012 could be like 2008 was for defensemen.
this isn't the usual flyers team though. Our forwards all dont have to be very good defensive players to help out our shotty goalie. With the defense and bryz in net we should be more than capable of locking it down.
