Part of the team is more important than the individual philosophy. No flashy numbers except in special circumstances for star players from outside the organization. Richer, Thomas, Gilmour, Mogilny types. Call ups are another exception since the regular numbers are almost always used, and even then they get the lowest possible number.

So how long's the waiting period until it's cool to wear my Langenbrunner jersey again?

It's like making a joke about a tragedy, a decade after the majority of the survivors are dead. You have some time. You should change the nameplate to MacL.....Kelly.

That may run into some continuity errors seeing as how I have a 2003 Cup patch on it.

I might be one of the only ones who don't care about this.

As long as the regulars wear their numbers, I don't care what the youngins wear.

I'm still torn about Josefson's number. I think 91 would be a great fit, but that's a no-no to Lou. Not really a fan of him wearing any of the remaining numbers, but my guess is he'll be wearing 16.

#16 for Yayo is more than fine by me. Nothing against Lou`s system, but if I was a player and he wouldn`t let me wear #37, I`d be pissed. Many players are superstitious.

I like Tao in 20. Not really a usual defenceman's number, but it suits him.

For the life of me, I can not recall who wore #5 before White. Colin, BTW, has been with the team for over 10 years now. He deserves more Devil-fan love.

i used to use anything that ended in 5. then eventually i ended up getting stuck with 10. that turned to 9, which turned to 18, which turned to 81. so obviously lou would hate me.

it's kinda weird to speculate on who would wear what number. that's just so strange to someone who isn't used to stuff like that.

and i always thought higher numbers were less flashy. most of the all time great numbers are under 20 aside from a few. i mean there aren't that many greats that wore 83.

That's why they're more flashy. With a high number like that, you have the opportunity to be the best #XX ever. Maybe that gets perceived as selfishness.

Really, no one. Last guy before White was Doug Bodger. Only real guys of note were Modry, Weinrich, and Kurvers.

Me, I've always gone with #7........number my dad wore when he played, and I also am a Mickey Mantle fan, been wearing it/liking it since around age 9
I wore 7 in everything because of Tkachuk. However, my high school uses the same jerseys from frosh-varsity so for freshman baseball, football and basketball I wore 32 due to 7 not being available.

So, place your bets, place your bets. What will be Larsson jawsey number?

Unless Fraser is bounced, probably #29, since Anssi skipped town.

I think 2 or 8 if Zubrus is gone (which I pray doesn't happen).
