Folks, please just clear your mind that you ever knew of Eklund's site. None of the RFAs are going anywhere unless we get some stud scorer and I don't even think we will have cap room for that.

Dagoon can't even spell DUBINSKY right. Twice.

Rangers have Dubinski in play and this isn't ecklund rumor I had this at the draft Dubinski wants 4 million Sather thinks he is nuts !!!

He's trying so hard to be an insider. I give him credit for the Kovalchuk trade though because he sucks up to the Devils players for info.

Again, wasn't Girardi traded and not on the Rangers plane a few years ago. Just keeping things in perspective.

At least he's no "Ecklund". That entire feed is a mess.

on the eklund rumor...its a great generalized statement for him to get hits to his site but if you stop to think about it, it makes zero sense. he says we are moving a 'key rfa' to clear cap space for a run at stamkos...

first off, boyle, anisimov and sauer don't make enough $$ for dumping them to make sense...when looking to clear cap space, teams don't normally first look to dump key contributors that make near the league minimum. even with raises, after you replace them with someone from hartford, you'd save like a couple $100k. not nearly enough to make it worthwhile to lose assets and weaken the team.

so that leaves dubinsky or callahan, who have cap hits right now of about $2 mil and will likely sign for $4 mil each...

so we are supposed to believe that sather is going to dump 1 of the 2 most important heart and soul players to clear up to $4 mil in cap space, BEFORE he explores:

1)buying out wolski to save $3.33 mil
2)buying out avery to save $1.3 mil
3)dumping EC to save $925k
4)dumping MZA to save $1.75 mil

how does that make any sense? he can fairly easily clear $7.3 mil in cap space by unloading 4 non-core, 'place holders', but no instead he is going to dump a leader and heart and soul guy to clear $4 mil? make zero sense.

I'd like to see an offer thrown at Steve Sullivan. 1 year, 2.5 million. Even if he only plays 55-60 games, he's still a heck of a player to have in the lineup.

I like this idea. Cheap, talented veteran that can play LW:

Dubinsky/Sullivan-Richards-Gaborik
Sullivan/Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan

Sullivan would fit best with AA/Cally, considering that 1st line needs Dubinsky, as without him, their forecheck and puck control would be easily stagnated by any competent NHL defense, but either way, it's an extremely low risk, potentially high reward signing.

I've brought up the Steve Sullivan idea months ago. Fits this teams identity to a tee. Extremely hard worker and a solid top 6 guy. Cole and Leino are intriguing to me as well.

Sullivan isn't really top 6 anymore and his back is screwed up

Why bring in Steve Sullivan when we can bring back Prospal and he'll probably cost less and has produced here in the past.

Go look at his production VS. games played. If he's playing he's producing. He most def. is a top 6 player if playing.

I'd be down for Cole, but nothing more than 2 years.

51 in 82 games in 09/10 was solid production. Last year he was on what, 40-42 point pace (82 games). Prospal > Sullivan.
