Is there any chances that Tambellini will put a claim on him?
What do you think Oilers fans?

He's already cleared waivers once this week. Nobody is going to take a $3 million salary cap hit for him.

Pierre McGuire on team990 just now: "I wouldn't touch Cam Barker with a 10-foot pole."

Then told a story how he spoke to a Chicago executive (I forgot his name) about who Pierre would trade first out of Chicago and he said Barker, then Barker got dealt to the Wild.

Take it for what it's worth, but Barker's already been removed from the Wild roster. Sad to see a guy spiral that quick.

Good move. I believe he qualified for the 1/3 buyout...so it will save minny a good chunk of change for a small cap hit

I see someone picking him up cheap (500-700k, maybe 2way) as a reclamation project

Cam Barker is no longer a good hockey player. I have no idea why but after watching him the last year and a half every game he's got nothing to warrant the contract he has/had or being a first round pick let alone #3 overall!

Wild save about 3mil in cap space by letting him go, this is a no brainer. Brent Burns is making the same amount of money as Barker!

Would certainly love to see the Flames to do so for the sake of seeing if he can return to a standard of competency in the NHL.

Not disagreeing with you. He wasn't always the player he is now though. Just 2 years ago Barker had value. He was subject to trade rumors for a long time before the trade to Minnesota but there were quite a few fans of teams interested. After 08-09, his play plummeted so bad that now here he stands.

Getting traded from Chicago and then seeing them win the Stanley Cup broke him. Barker will get offers this summer but he has a lot to prove that he can cut it in this league.

Others can and will offer more, but I'd sure like Shero to invite him to our camp if he gets bought out.

We have no defender with any kind of competence to play the right point on the PP, and Barker surely used to be able to do that.
With us he also wouldn't often be put in situations beyond his comfort zone, what with our top4 being rather stellar ES.
