Like I said if he's playing he is producing. He played a good chunk of those games injured last season which came to a point where he couldnt go anymore.

I'd take Sullivans skating&production over Prospal's any day. The only issue is his health.

LOL, if he really wants to play for Nashville, just come over and suit-up.

It would have been interesting to see how far they could have gone in the POs with some more scoring....

Lots of interest in Andrew Brunette from NYR, CHI, NSH, amongst others, but CHI may be frontrunner. Brunette is at Wimbledon today. [via Twitter]

5 RFA signings left to go... plus maybe a trade for a LW and maybe signing a cheap vet on D...
Christ is most likely a goner...
I like the depth here. A very good thing.
If we somehow could pull off a trade getting the rights for Radulov from Nashville - then we would be set in stone for years to come.

FORWARDS
Sean Avery ($1.937m) / Brad Richards ($6.667m) / Marian Gaborik ($7.500m)
Brandon Dubinsky ($4.000m) / Artem Anisimov ($1.900m) / Ryan Callahan ($4.000m)
Wojtek Wolski ($3.800m) / Derek Stepan ($0.875m) / Mats Zuccarello-Aasen ($1.750m)
Ruslan Fedotenko ($1.400m) / Brian Boyle ($1.500m) / Brandon Prust ($0.800m)
Mike Rupp ($1.500m)

DEFENSEMEN
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Daniel Girardi ($3.325m)
Ryan McDonagh ($1.300m) / Tim Erixon ($1.750m)
Michael Del Zotto ($1.087m) / Mike Sauer ($1.500m)
Pavel Valentenko ($0.850m)

GOALTENDERS
Henrik Lundqvist ($6.875m) / Martin Biron ($0.875m)

BUYOUTS:
Chris Drury ($3.716m)

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000;
CAP PAYROLL: $62,683,334;
BONUSES: $2,337,500
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,616,667

LWs Avery plus Wolski both in a @contract year#...
Next year (or the next) we could see a transition of:

Wolski => Kreider
Fedotenko => Thomas
Avery => Hagelin
?? Valentenko => McIlraith

An ev. fantasy future homegrown lineup (of course never gonna happen as all will not pan out) of:

Kreider - Stepan - Thomas
Dubinsky - AA - Cally
Hagelin - Lindberg - Fasth
Miller - Yogan/Wilson - Fogarty

MZA/Ryan Bourque/Shane McColgan, Randy McNaught

Looks interesting at least.

...some thoughts on The Offseason so far...

2011 OFFESEASON MOVES

Traded prospect 2nd round pick Ethan Werek to Desert for 2nd round pick Oscar Lindberg
Lateral move = Outcome remains to be seen

Traded 2 second round pics and Roman Horak to Calgary for 1st round pick Tim Erixon and 5th rounder (NYR chose Shane McColgan)
Presumably a steal. Time will tell

Drafted JT Miller at number 15 (1st round)
Not a fan here, wanted a boom or bust in either Jurco or Khoko, but time will tell what this pick ends up being...

Traded prospect Evgeny Grachev to St Louis for 3rd round pick (NYR drafted Steve Fogarty at number 72)
Do not like. At all. But Grachev reportedly wanted a shot and asked for a trade, making it understandable...Fogarty is interesting...

Drafted Michael St Croix at number 106 (4th round)
Cannot say I am impressed with this pick

Drafted Shane McColgan at number 134 (5th round)
Good choice imo

Drafted Sam Noreau at number 136 (5th round)
Contingency plan if McIllwrath does not pan out?

Traded 2012 6th round pick for Nashvilles 2011 pick (number 172) and drafted Peter Cersnak
Same thought as drafting Noreau?

Did not sign Chris Kreider
Not good, but understandable...

Resigned/signed/qualified prospects Ryan Bourque, Max Campbell, Tommy Grant, Chad Kolarik, John Mitchell, Dale Weise, Jason Wilson, Andrew Yogan, Tim Erixon, Chad Johnson...
All solid moves imo. Hartford will be very interesting to follow (yeah, I know it is The Whale...)

Qualified RFAs Dubinsky, Callahan, Sauer, Aninsimov and Boyle
Good, now sign them to reasonable deals...

Did not qualify Matt Gilroy who hit UFA and was signed in Tampa
See ya, he became redundant...

Signed Michael Rupp for 3 year at 1,5 M per
Good signing replacing Derek Boogaards (RIP) spot on NYR roster with a real hockey player

Resigned Ruslan Fedotenko for 1 year at 1,4 M
Good, solid depth signing

Signed Brad Richards for 9 years at 6,667 M per
Looks to be a great signing (I am less jubliant than many others I must admit) cap wise filling several holes at once on the NYR roster. But we have been here (somewhat) in "Euforialand" before on July 1st and the results have constantly been dismal. The fact that we did not sign any other overpriced UFAs is perhaps the best news though

Traded prospect Brodie Dupont to Nashville for Andreas Thuresson
AHLers change places looking for new start. Like the concept of trading with Nashville though. Go all in to acquire the rights for Alexander Radulov! and we have a winner!!!

OVERALL GRADE - A-/B+
Drop the puck!

I know Brooks said we had interest in Babchuk, but it looks like he's re-signing with the Flames.

Anton Babchuk near completion on 2 year deal with #Flames.....
I'm still of the opinion that we should just sign Eminger to a cheap deal to fight for the #6-7 d-man spot with Valentenko, Del Zotto, etc.

I agree with this. Eminger is a good option as a 6th/7th d-man. We could probably resign him on the cheap, and he fits well within the system.
