I agree. I was expecting he'd sign for $2.25-$2.5 range as well. Very happy to see him back at a really good rate. I hope he can stay healthy and at least provide 70 or so games.

I really thought Sami would try and hold out for the 2 year deal. With Erhoff gone, it was important to get this done and give guys like Tanev time to develop.

I'm always a fan of short term deals. It gives you flexibility now and in the future.

1 or 2 yr deals is the kind of contracts we should be looking at unless there is a player you feel could be part of our core.
