Leino? Meh. I wouldn't throw a fit if we signed him but he's no big deal.
Who knows what your going to get with that guy. Or Cole, or Gagne.
I'd take an old broken down superstar who has chemistry with Pleks over a guy who had 11 points in 55 games in 09-10. Been great since then, but Montreal has a way of making it difficult on guys like him.

I would also take 1 year of Jagr than multiple years of Leino. If Jagr does not work out, it's only one year. If I am PG, I will give Jagr up to 3.5M for 1 year.

Exactly. I'd even be more generous but you get the idea.

was in a tough situation in Det. Was a beast in the playoffs for philly & had a great season.
How can you say who knows what your going to get Leino but your confident to throw 3 million at Jagr who hasnt played an NHL game in 2 years?
A guy who is known to be moody & possibly disrupt the chemistry we have going on now.
Bergeron said on CKAC after directly talking to him that Theo would love to come back here. There are 0 teams in the NHL that don't have better goalies then Theodore. He is still one of the top #2 goalies in the league.
but why would we want to sign our favorite opposing goalie? every time we play him, the habs light him up like a Christmas tree
i both want this to be over, and for his mullet to be playing in montreal next season. this crap, i mean crop, of UFAs is crap - ah well looks like i meant crap after all... give him 4 mil and gomez's sombrero i don't give a **** get it done goat GODDAMMIT!
General manager Ray Shero and his staff are in a meeting room at Consol Energy Center preparing for the start of NHL free agency at noon, but as of 10:45 a.m. they had not heard from Jaromir Jagr or his agent.
The agent, Petr Svoboda, said that Jagr has not made a decision yet about which, if any, NHL team he will play for next season.
Jagr, 39, is likely to play in the NHL after spending three seasons in Russia, Svoboda has said.
Svoboda described his morning as "very busy." As for whether Jagr would made a decision today…
"I hope so," Svoboda said, sounding weary.
Svoboda said Jagr remains in New York, and denied emphatically that Jagr was in or headed to Pittsburgh soon.
The Penguins are one of "many teams" Svoboda said he has contacted about Jagr, and one of three known to make a one-year offer in the range of $2 million.
The other teams to have made offers are Detroit and Montreal, and it is believed the Penguins` offer is the lowest, though Shero has said he believes it to be "competitive."
Shero said Thursday the offer to Jagr would remain even if Jagr does not inform them by noon of a decision, but stressed that he has as "backup plan" if a deal cannot be reached by noon with Jagr or the team`s own impending free agent, Tyler Kennedy.
