Most of it is just him taking a spot that I want for a young player that has a future with us. I just don't see any spot for him, especially since he only produces a little when he's given top line minutes and pp time and he definitely shouldn't be given that regularly. If we didn't have guys like Winchester, Condra, Greening, Neil, Smith, O'Brien, Daugavins, Regin here looking for bottom 6 roles then I wouldn't mind Shannon coming back, but I'd rather all of those players before Shannon.

Fleisch has been out since January. Apparently he has some serious issues so I would stay away from him.

Back-up goaltender + Eager / Konopka. That's my prediction for today's moves

He's been given a clean bill of health.

He's on meds to keep it under control.

Sylvain St. Laurent says Ottawa is one of three teams in running for Jose Theodore.

I'd really like D'Agostini, he's young, and just potted 20+. That's who we need.

Obviously we need a back up.

Upshall and Leino are the other two players I'd like.

I think we need a scoring winger. I wanted Jokinen, but now that he's not available, I like Upshall, Leino, Fash, and d'Agostini in that order.

This amuses me: Garrioch tweeted that the Flyers hadn't talked to Handzus (according to his agent), and less than 10 minutes later Scott Cullen at TSN reports that Handzus has signed with the Flyers.

Update: Bob McKenzie just submarined his colleague--Garrioch was right and Handzus remains unsigned.

If Connolly would take a 1 year deal, i'd throw some money at him. He could fill a hole, and prevent us from having to rush a young guy.

Avs were a TERRIBLE team in the 2nd half of last season. Worse than even the 30th overall Oilers, and it wasn't all the work of Brian Elliot as some might lead to to believe.

That is a big risk. In addition, it isn't like Varlamov is a proven playoff performer for a contending team let alone a guy who will play in front of a young team that struggled mightily down the stretch (unless they were TANKING on purpose)

ayyayay if the Caps get there hands on a top 10 pick. Next years draft is expected to be as deep as this years except with much better TOP END. There will be 2 or 3 or 4 guys that will be expected to be franchise level players, and we already know 3 of those guys are can't miss Russian forwards.
